couple was fighting until 4 in the morning in the hallways, photos on website look much better than actual rooms and building entirely, right next to a boarded up building, staff wouldn’t let you inside to check in at night even in the pouring rain had to wait outside.

The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient! The room was very clean, the pillows were great (the big fluffy ones) and the room amenities were all functioning! I love that they did not make you put a roon deposit down to stay the night either. The cleaning staff the next day were also very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed! Definitely where I will be staying going forwarx in Syracuse! Gas stations are right across the street and it is a perfect location for Suracuse downtown life and the mall!

We arrive and find pee stains on the concrete and sheet set. Go down and ask for clean bedding , claims he doesn't have any clean at the moment that he could put them in washer. Meanwhile it's 9PM so your going to bring us bedding at 11pm earliest?! So finally offers to check another room that bedding was worse. So we asked for a refund he said no gotta talk to manager. Finally says ok manager said he would refund you can call him in morning if you want. They refund one of our two night stay when we didn't stay either night.

Unkind and harsh reception at check-in. I realize it isn't personal and the guy was not enjoying his job, however, we are guests that paid and traveled far. Wi fi keep going in and out constantly so I mostly used data. It is not in the heart of downtown where it is safe and nice, though that area is closeby. A mile makes a huge difference. We were told by Uber the area was unsafe and don't walk around there. Didn't have that clean feeling with the old carpeting, dark marks on sheets, and suspicious dirt high on walls. Though that is not a reflection of the cleaning staff. They were very kind and doing all required tasks. I'm referring to a separate deep clean or renewal. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the cable TV selections at night. Nevertheless, my son and I were at our first university visit of many so the memories of being there in Syracuse overall were beautiful.

Their was pubic hairs and eye lash hairs on our bed spread. Their was pubic hairs and hair in the bath tub. The drawers were dirty in the inside of the dresser and bed side stands. The phone when I went to go pick it up to use the whole phone system picked up because something so sticky was all over the phone. We asked for one extra pillow and was told the hotel did not have any extra pillows. Had somewhat of a descent breakfast but looked like a lot of containers were empty when normally they are all full. The sausage did not seem to be cooked all the way and the hash browns also were under cooked and just crumbling apart. Was not told or any directions where anything was in the hotel had to find it ourselves. Also their was two remotes to the TV but their was no directions on how to work the remotes to the TV or get to channels. Their also was not a luggage stand in our room to put our luggage on. Are toilet ran constantly was very annoying trying to sleep hearing that all night. The house keepers knocked on our door at 7:30am and woke us up to see if we have left yet or we leaving soon.

It was a nice place as all I did was sleep there overnight! Very clean but very noisy with police sirens and stuff like that in the middle of the night! Not at their property just around it! It’s nice and quiet there! They have a great breakfast for free and it’s very clean and comfortable!!!

Manali the check in clerk was so friendly and helped straighten out my convoluted reservations. She turned what could have been a disaster into a delightful stay, even with the six inches of snow!!! I have stayed here before and will come back again. It is convenient, quiet and safe and very close to excellent restaurants and things to do.

Someone had a keycard to my room and tried to enter the room while i was using the room. The hotel issued me 2 keycards at check in. Obviously my room was not secured. They clearly double booked the room. It was a tramatic and humiliating experience.

Really a great spot at a decent price. Its always nice to see staff working hard to please. Truly refreshing when in the realm of motels. Location is the best as right next to highway as well as a 3 min walk to restaurants and a 10 min walk from the awesome science museums. Great stay period. Tv and wifi was solid.

Hotel is in a really rough area. Ice machine was broke, tv did not work, no hot water, room was flithy. Absolutely nothing good about this place other than I made it out alive. If you have to pick between sleeping under the bridge or here, pick the bridge it’s free at least

Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and amenities. Staff (especially the desk clerk) was welcoming and small gift bag of waters and snacks was very nice. The free breakfast the following morning was very good and plentiful. Price was really good and proximity to the event we were attending was very good - 4 minutes away.

Clarion was very unclean. It seems like there were dust mights in the room because we woke up very congested. The room was dusty and untouched when we got in. There was also a weird smell when we got into the room and the window seemed open from all the noise that was coming in. The outside property looks nothing like the images, it’s very old and falling apart.

Room was comfortable, staff that checked me in was great. Outdoor tiled hallways are very slippery in the rain. Cleaning staff were knocking on the door (hard knock,loud male voice) at 9:30 am as I was coming out of the shower - not a relaxing way to start the day, and utterly avoidable.

The staff was quite nice. It’s a very small hotel, and the room was on the smaller size. The room had a fridge with freezer, good water pressure, and was very clean. No seating area in the room, but there was a desk and chair, and also, windows that open! Free parking, tiny gym. To note, the hallway to get to the rooms is outdoors; it’s tiled and covered but it was all wet when we were there because it was raining. All in all, it’s good value.

We stayed at this hotel last year and although security was tight, with very good reason, we had a good stay overall. This year, as soon as I arrived (they did allow me to check in about 10 minutes early, which I was grateful for), the front door was locked, which is normal protocol for this hotel as it is in a downtown city. I rang the bell and stood for a few minutes before someone let me in. Check in, go to park, and immediately are met with a homeless man in the parking lot (who I believe was either trying to use drugs and/or was urinating on the sidewalk right in front of us). Quickly gathered our belongings and ran into the secure area to get to our room. The location is not in a great area and we knew that. Around 10pm, a party bus let about 15-20 people off in the parking lot, where they were rowdy, pushing, playing music, some got in cars and left, it was quite a ruckus. They did this for about 30 straight minutes right next to all of the vehicles in the parking lot. Feared for my vehicle's safety, I called the front desk to politely ask them to ask the people to disperse. No answer. Unfortunately I had no other choice but to call the police, who did show up just a few minutes later, and everyone dispersed. It wasn't an amazing upscale hotel last year (had a great breakfast too), which is why we stayed a 2nd year, but this experience deterred us from staying here ever again.

Clarion Pointe Downtown was a pleasant surprise -- the location isn't great, nothing they can do about that but the rooms were clean, front desk staff very nice, warm cookies in the afternoon, basic breakfast foods, etc. Given the price point, they do a very nice job.

I was hesitant because I normally stay at the Sheraton by the university but it was parents weekend and everywhere was sold out and came across the Clarion which said it was the best western and recently updated so I took a chance and have to say it’s close to the university 6min and room and lobby was renovated and had breakfast in the morning and gave a complimentary bottle of white wine when checked in! The area around isn’t the greatest but was safe enough to stay and would stay again!
