Fun and Welcoming Hotel in Colorful NeighborhoodPosted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: Staff and clean bright rooms.
Cons: A quieter HVac.
Location: We didn't do much nearby except buy some water.
We felt welcomed and special the moment we walked in. The staff was warm, gracious, accommodating and friendly. Rooms were bright and comfortable. The atmosphere harked back to a bygone time. Loved the 1907 porter operated elevator.

Visiting TorontoPosted Sep 20, 2017
Pros: hotel staff
Cons: this hotel needs a significant work. Furniture and bathroom facilities needs to be updated Limited parking also added to the challenge
Attempting to avoid the franchise hotels and go for a more European feeling chose this hotel Disappointing in terms of "feel" and look. A very poor value proposition

Eclectic hotel in Queen West VillagePosted Sep 18, 2017
Cons: Mini fridges in the rooms would be ideal.
Location: Queen West Village....lots of trendy shops and restaurants, nice to be a bit away from downtown, but still close enough to walk or hop on a streetcar.
We chose this hotel as it was close to a family function. No two rooms are the same....ours was charming wth brick walls and white accents, while the second room we booked reminded me of a Tim Burton movie! The building is historical, stairwells wide, hardwood floors unlevel, cage door elevator.....everything you'd expect from an old hotel. Comfortable stay, you are really paying for the location.

old world charmPosted Sep 18, 2017
If you appreciate art and restored architecture, this is a beautiful building to stay at. Cozy, hip decor. Small room but it has everything you need to be quite comfortable. Convenient streetcar stop right outside.

Beautifully restored hotelPosted Sep 13, 2017
Pros: Character, location.
Cons: The bathrooms are a bit cramped (the original layout has been respected).
Location: Easily accessible from downtown by streetcar. Located in a fun neighborhood with lots of eating and shopping options.
The Gladstone Hotel is one of the oldest in Toronto, but has been beautifully restored while keeping its historic character. In particular the wooden floors and the cage elevator are magnificent. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well located, with very convenient streetcar access, in a diverse and fun neighborhood, with lots of dining and shopping options. Adding even more cachet, the public areas of the hotel serve as a gallery for some exceptional work by neighborhood artists. All in all, a very memorable experience - in the best possible sense.

Fun, Interesting and Unique HotelPosted Sep 6, 2017
Location - Ideally situated in Queen West neighbourhood with tons of shops, restaurants and Trinity Bellwoods Park all within walking distance. Streetcars and buses are right outside the hotel. Hotel - The hotel is so unique with so much history, originality and artistic expression. The staff were friendly and courteous. The hotel design is unparalleled. Even walking the hallways, you feel like you are in an art gallery. It can get a bit noisy on the weekend with the bar and/or special events happening - it did not bother us since we were on the highest floor. I would definitely stay here again.
