OK Place for 1 Night

Posted Jan 6, 2018
Location is good...5 minute drive to downtown Congress street. Hotel building is showing its age. Room was spacious and clean. Views from the room not glamorous as implied by the hotel name ( no river, no park.) Breakfast ended at a ridiculous time (9 am) especially since it was the morning after New Years Eve (and our internal clocks were on California time)... staff held firm to the cutoff time! This hotel is just an okay place to stay if you are just passing thru Tucson like we were..

Dear Guest, We appreciate you taking the time to write a review and have notated all of your comments. I am happy you found the room to be spacious and clean and I think you are right that the breakfast should have been open a little longer considering it was New Year's Day. We will make sure that happens next year. We hope you are having a wonderful New Year! Sincerely, Jill Ward General Manager

Go Aggies!

Posted Jan 3, 2018
We went to Tucson for the Aggie game. The hotel looked a lot nicer in the website. It is old and not well taken care of.

Hotel is nice. Was being set up for a Gem show coming to town in Feb and grounds were covered in tents....that was unusual. Our rooms were booked at the same time but on opposite ends of hotel. This stay could habe been a bit better but will definitely go back.

Dear Guest, We are happy to hear that you will return and stay with us again. And yes the Pueblo Gem & Mineral Show is a large event we put on at the hotel. If you have never been you should try and visit during that time. It is truly a spectacular display of gems, jewels and so many other unique treasures from sellers all over the world. Warmest regards, Jill Ward General Manager

Just OK

Posted Nov 27, 2017
This hotel shows a lot better online than it does in person. The location was OK. The grounds were in disarray due to some sort of event breakdown, but it was OK. The room was just OK. From the reviews and the photos on line, I kind of expected it to be a little nicer. Overall, it wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. Its just OK.

Dear Guest, I apologize you found our hotel to be only okay as our standards far exceed that description. Though our hotel is not sleek modern it does have a lot of character and heart and a hard working staff that go out of their way to make each guests experience special. We appreciate you taking the time to review us and will take note of your comments. Sincerely, Jill Ward General Manager

Bedding was horrible

Posted Oct 23, 2017
When we checking into the first room it looked as though no one had stayed there in a while. It was dusty and musty. The smoke detector was beeping periodically and we called the front desk to repair it, which they did. They sent up the night security man to replace a battery and he smelled like smoke so much so that after he left the room still smelled like someone was smoking in the room. We were in a king room. They had a very thin mattress pad that was a queen size on the bed so the sides of the king did not have any mattress pad and it was sheet to mattress. Called the front desk to let them know it was unacceptable and they moved us to a room with 2 queens which was better. The photos are deceiving and it says it’s a 3 star hotel but it is truly only a 2 star. The hotel is old and smelly with rough concrete walls and popcorn ceilings.

The hotel is old and run down. It appears they are trying to upgrade it, but it is not working. The breakfast was okay and the staff was friendly.

Wow what’s that smell?

Posted Oct 16, 2017
So I walked in the room and wondered why it was cold as a freezer. Then I turned down the air went for a walk to check the place out and found out!! It smelled like a sewage leak! Then when I returned to my room, when I turned the air down it started to smell like that in my room. Upon further inspection my room was dirty, did not resemble the pictures AT ALL. The pictures on Expedia are only some of the rooms!! Buyer beware! Also they must be renovating cause there’s 4 huge dumpsters in the center of the courtyard. It just wasn’t pleasant.
