Our stay at the hotel was wonderful despite two key things that inconvenienced the trip. 1) The initial desk clerk who checked us into the hotel was unfriendly and rude. We are a group of four 21-year-olds, full adults, and were treated by this man as though we were children. Immediately, we were met with a rude tone, and a condescending manner that set us all off. Not only this, but he claimed that he was charging us a damages deposit fee, and instead, charged us the entire fee for the two-day stay, AND a damages fee. We were unhappy to have been deceived and would have preferred he had just told us what we were actually being charged for. This also, unfortunately, filled one of our traveling companions' credit card, which made it difficult for him to budget and pay for things for the rest of our trip. We later inquired with another desk-attendant who was similarly confused and told us we should have just been charged a damage fee, and that full fees were meant to be collected after checking out. 2) One of the main reasons my group decided to stay at this hotel was because it offered amenities we were willing to pay extra for including a pool and hot tub. However, neither of these were functioning when we arrived and we were upset we had paid a higher amount and not received these amenities. While it is fully reasonable that the pool and hot tub were being managed, we wished that the hotel had informed us prior to our stay so we could be prepared for it.

Our stay was lovely. Hotel was in a safe location, was within a few block walk to restaurants, cafes & shops. Was only a 10 min walk to water taxi over to Granville Island. Unfortunately there was no lounge within the hotel & we didn't get informed of the pool/ hottub arrangements for guests whilst the hotel pool was under maintenance. Would have been nice to know of that option. Staff was very professional and kind. Would stay here again.

The hotel was located very conveniently to nice restaurants and local sites that we wanted to see. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. The shower curtain needs to be replaced as it smelled mildewy. Also, we saw a little bug that looked distinctly like a cockroach but it skettered away before we could identify it for sure.

Decent room, good breakfast included in rate. Bathroom faucet was oddly calibrated - Convenience parking if you bah e a vehicle. Up and down experience with reception staff - Won (at checkout) and Simon (at checkin) were brusque and barely polite. Felt like they were doing us a favor in some way. However, Mike (Lebanese guy) who helped me with renewing my room key, and an Asian woman who helped with buying laundry supplies were kind and professional.

I booked a one night stay for myself, my son and daughter. They live in Vancouver, and it was his 28th birthday. A few days after I booked with Expedia I received an email informing me that the pool and hot tub would not be available. We were looking forward to a swim and was one of the reasons I booked the Marriott Residence. I asked if there was a sister hotel with a pool? I received another reply saying they could give us a voucher to the Vancouver Aquatic Centre. I said that would be acceptable. We booked in after 4 pm and the front desk associate was very polite and helpful. I asked about the breakfast buffet the following morning and what time it went to? She replied 10:00am. Then, when I was handed the room cards I confirmed that it would be open until 10:00 am. She replied, yes. In the morning we were at the restaurant at 9:30 am only to find everything was cleared away! I spoke to a couple of the workers and they said we could have an apple or an orange and a muffin, and no hot drinks. I was not very happy and I declined their offer and went to the front desk. I asked to speak to the duty manager. I explained the misinformation about the breakfast. He offered to reimburse me up to $45 for the 3 of us if we had breakfast elsewhere and provided a receipt. We went and found a cafe, had breakfast, paid and returned. I presented him with the receipt. He refunded me. I also asked for a late checkout as going out for breakfast delayed us. He agreed.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. I chose it because of the wonderful time I had last year. The employees of this hotel are polite and professional. The property itself is clean and well-maintained. The breakfast is enough to get you through the better part of a day. The rooms are quiet, the beds are comfortable and the amenities useful. Great location, easy to walk to Granville Island, Stanley Park, downtown, the marina, etc. I will definitely be back again!

It was a family friendly hotel in the middle of downtown, but not noisy. The breakfast had great choices for adults and kids. Parking is expensive, but I would stay again.

It is very convenient as it is close to public transportation and has convenient access to many attractions in the downtown area. The breakfast was really great and the service was as good as that of an upscale hotel. However, I couldn't sleep well at night because I heard the sound of the shower all night long. I don't know if it was just the floor and room we stayed on or if it was a problem with the insulation of the entire building. Other than this, it's a perfect place.
