I was looking forward to staying in this country pub with food, which is my preference when travelling in the UK for business.
The area is lovely and the pub looks charming and is really nice inside, however the room is nowhere near luxury. It was huge but would be considered decorated in a style fitting the type of pub it was, but I thought it looked a bit dated, the bed was comfy and everything was clean. The TV in the room was small considering it's about 12 feet away from the bed.
The bathroom is really poor, it was small, dated, the shower was in the bath and it had a shower curtain and not a screen. The shower pressure was good, but the shower head was too low and in the corner of the bath pointing outwards so awkward to get a shower. The room has low beams so to put the shower in the bath is a bad idea as this will restrict the height. Better to just have a shower. The grouting was all coming away on the tiles and the overall finishing was low quality. I wouldn't normally really care, but the was supposed to be Luxury and it was very expensive, so disappointing.
The cooked breakfast was nice, but had to be pre-ordered and there is no fruit or yoghurt or cereals on offer, which again when I pay for luxury and nearly £150 for the room the breakfast should be excellent. The service was good and helpful, but the waitress can't provide things that are not there.
