Transferred to another hotel-supposed fire?????
Arrived after midnight from 8 hr flight and with 3 young children under 6 yrs old-unpacked from taxi only to be told there had been a fire on our floor and we were to be transferred to another hotel. We had already paid taxi and had to repay again to be transferred to next hotel-not impressed. Hotel we were taken to would have been nice 25 years ago but was old an outdated. Asked the manager there about why we were transferred and was told that the other hotel had been overbooked. Both hotels belong to the same group so who was telling the truth??? Not a good welcome to Duhai

Suitably located hotel to metro station
It is the fifth time that I have stayed in the hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is within ealking distance of the Fahidi metro station on the green line. The only negative comment this time is the tap and bath water looked rusty and I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth.

Nice apartment hotel in a great location.
I booked the cheapest room (Executive Studio) and when I checked-in I couldn't believe how large the room was, it felt more like a 1 bedroom apartment rather than a studio. It was clean and had everything I needed apart from a safe. The Wi-Fi was only 50 AED for 4 days which is great value and the connection was fast and reliable. It doesn't have the polish of a 5-star hotel but for the price it's great value. Close to everything including a metro station. The only downside I had was that they don't allow guests in the rooms.

In need of better maintenance and housekeeping
The hotel offers well-priced spacious family accommodation in the heart of Bur Dubai. It is next to a good quality 24-hour supermarket and on a bustling road with restaurants open until the early hours of the morning. Taxis are easy to find and there are good shopping malls and sightseeing places nearby. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. But the quality of room maintenance and standard of housekeeping leave a lot to be desired. There should be a checklist system used by staff to make sure rooms meet minimum standards.

Not a Sweet Rose
I needed a hotel room for my family of 4 for an extended overnight layover. The only reason I booked at Desert Rose was that there weren't many hotels near the airport with 2 king beds in one suite. When we arrived, the front desk staff said the 2-bedroom rooms were all full (supposedly someone didn't check out on that day when they were supposed to leave). He was very apologetic and gave us 2 adjacent rooms with 1 king bed each. I wasn't happy about it, but I didn't want to try to find another hotel at the last minute. He tried to appease us by giving us free wifi and morning shuttle to the airport which was a nice gesture, but that didn't make up for the room problem. The rooms smelled like mildew and the bathrooms did not feel clean at all. There was a cockroach in the kitchenette in one of them. The "ding" from the elevator shaft was also very loud and kept my wife and me up for most of the night. To end our stay there, the shuttle to the airport was late, and we ended up just grabbing a taxi out front.

Convenient No Frills City Center Stay
The hotel has a number of contrasting aspects. The Reception and Reservations staff are excellent but the Housekeeping staff are very poor. Mt reservations, check-in and other communication with the hotel before and during my staff were very good. But I had to call Housekeeping to my room because of a lack of plugs, towels, chairs, etc. It seems that no pre-occupation room check is done. I then almost had to beg for some standard items, being told they would check if they were available.

Hotel in Indian district
The hotel was in a nice area, an Indian district close to the nice Asian bazaars and a short ride to the old souk and gold souk. The hotel had no information in the room about facilities all the local area and it generally seemed unloved, with grout coming off the tiles and mould on the chopping board. There was not enough crockery, only 4 cups, four plates, four goals etc, which in a self catering apartment is not really sufficient and we had to ask for a lot of the basics like a kettle etc. Hotel staff were friendly and the apartment was clean. The apartment was absolutely huge, and was the only room with three bathrooms (room number 315). The gym was really big and seem to well-equipped, there was a steam sauna and a dry sauna, and a small but deep swimming pool on the roof.

The bed felt like springs covered with a little clothm hurt all the time.I left the hotel 3 days early because it was so bad, the staff seemed very eager to please but then my mini HP computer dissapeared when they did the loading of my bags into the cab..................can I rate this place as a negative one on the number scale??Will not stay there again.P

Great Resting Break
The hotel was clean and well kept. Wish we did not have to pay for use of Wi-Fi for our laptop or tablet. A microwave would have been ideal in the room, and a shower curtain in the bath.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that they didn't have our 2 bedroom apartment as booked as they were having some issues and had put other people into different hotel. 5 of us ended up in a 1 bedroom apartment with extra beds put in the living room.. If we had known this we would have cancelled and booked somewhere else. The staff did try their best to accommodate us but it was a disappointing start to our holiday. We wouldn't go there again.

The room was not as good as I was expected. Initially, I have been told the Internet connection is complementary but when I check-out at 4:00 am the receptionist very dis-respectively keep asking I have to pay for the full amount of fees for Internet connection. He knew that I didn't want to miss my flight then I paid fully which didn't make me happy!

Its a pretty decent place to stay for the price. I cant complain. I stay there almost every other weekend now. It has all the basic necessesities for a few nights stay. Its not very fancy or expensive looking but it has everything you need.

1.Room was not not found clean after making it. 2.Toiletries never replaced properly (they cost very very low). 3.Customer living for more than 1/2 days should be allocated room with good view - our was restricted - through window only wall of next building was visible. 4.Furniture - chair, sofa were totally worn out, obsolete and smelly. . . they were looking like as if picked up from a skip. 5.Electric toaster was not compatible with the socket. (its plug was European type). I was promised that i will be provided an adapter - but never supplied.. . . inspite shown how to use that one - pushing knife through upper hole of the socket then push this kind of plug. 6.Condition of bath-shower was not kind of 3 or 3 1/2 star as rated.

Comfort, Location and Price
Great apartment-hotel. I had an executive studio. Location was close to metro/transportation, supermarkets, restaurants and just a short 15 minute walk to all of the sights on/around Dubai Creek. At night the surrounding area was quiet and conducive to a good sleep. Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. Housekeeping was great - cleaned my room daily. Room was large with a nice balcony. Kitchen came fully stocked (pots, pans, silverware, plates, etc.). I felt 'at home' immediately here.

4 nights at the desert rose
For the price I paid it was definitely worth it. Its close to the metro, the Burjuman mall, KFC, McDonalds and walking distance to the York club. The room was clean and the internet was fast. Also there was a supermarket right around the corner. Everything you need for a short stay in Dubai is near the hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful and even gave great suggestions

Hotel staff was very friendly. I had a clooged drain in my sink and the staff sent a plumber to fix the problem in minutes!! I was very pleased!! The hotel is in a great location!! Less than a 5 minute walk to the Metro train system that can take u almost everywhere you need to go!! i will definitely stay at this hotel again!!
