Great Countryside TreasurePosted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: The older countryside feel
Cons: Decor was a bit dated, but didn't mind too much as it addedd to the overall experience.
Location: Your walking distance to Lucan village and bus stops.
Recently we stayed at the Lucan Spa because we didn't want a big inner city hotel feel. We figured if we were going all the way to Ireland, lets enjoy the feel of Ireland. That is exactly what this place delivers. It's not state of the art with every imaginable peice of tech. But has a charm that fulfilled our Irish countryside desire. Original Irish breakfast was awesome in the mornings. The hallways are adorned with lots of wood, old banisters and artwork. The staff were top notch and went far and above for service. This was a great find; glad we stayed here.

Al the staff are more than helpful. Our bedroom was musty when we went in, opened window & that helped. Bedroom door had a "gape" on it. Have stayed there before & had better bedrooms.

Very nice hotelPosted Aug 17, 2017
Very quaint. On a bus route so very easy to get to Dublin. The town of Lucan was very nice. Staff at hotel were very nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was hot and there was lots to choose from. I would stay there again

Really nice older hotel with interesting historyPosted Jul 23, 2017
Pros: Very charming. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Very nice breakfast. Close to bus stop and McDonalds. Took the bus into Dublin.
Cons: Beds are hard and uncomfortable.
We enjoyed two nights at this hotel. Parking was very accessible. To save on parking in Dublin we took the bus into town. Took a little longer to get to downtown Dublin, but we saved money on parking and saved the hassle of driving around looking for parking and trying to navigate the very tight parking garages and spaces. We know this because we parked in a garage with a Skoda Superb rental at one point. The car was too big for getting around in the parking garage. Taking the bus made it easy. The ride into town was fine. The ride back in the evening was crowded with people commuting from work. Bus stop is a short walking distance from the hotel. McDonald's is the same distance and directly across the street from the bus stop. We really liked this hotel. Older and quaint with an interesting history. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our only gripe was that the beds were HARD. And by the way, as with nearly every hotel in Ireland, you need to bring your own washcloths. They are not provided in hotels in Ireland. This hotel was very ice and convenient for us - a family of four who spent two days touring Dublin. (two children ages 21 and 17)
