After checking in, I went straight to the bar area for food as it was after 8pm. I advised the waitress where I was sitting, and after almost 15 minutes of waiting, I had to go to the bar to place my order for food and drink. It wasn't busy, and in the meantime I saw two other guests leave to go elsewhere. There were fruit flies at my table and they were also very noticeable behind the bar. Furthermore, I had issues adding the bill to my room bill, despite deliberately ensuring I put through a pre-authorisation when checking-in. The bar manager sent me back out to reception, whereby I had to queue and explain what had happened to the receptionist, and the very nice receptionist advised there should have been no issue. The pillow's in the executive room I booked were the worst I'd experienced for quite some time. The next morning, my card stopped working after breakfast, therefore I had to queue again for more than ten minutes to get it re-validated. The reason for this delay was short staffing, and there was a lady in front of me raising a complaint and requesting to cancel her remaining night due to the poor service levels. I'd recommend the gym, it's very well equipped, and I would stay in Clayton Cardiff Lane on a regular basis for business, if it weren't for the previous comments.
