Early March 2018Posted Mar 18, 2018
We sought a hotel that was close but not central to Dublin and likely to have some "atmosphere". As one who works in the heritage "industry" (investigating structures and designing conservation schemes for them), I appreciated the somewhat eclectic historical mix that Clontarf Hotel is, and my partner appreciated the comfortable room and good food on offer. VJ at Reception was particularly helpful.

Beautiful Hotel steeped in HistoryPosted Mar 17, 2018
This hotel doesn't disappoint. The staff are very freindly and helpful. The lobby and balcony areas offer great decor, art and places to relax and take in the Castle atmosphere. Our room (home for a week) was clean and very comfortable. The Cleaning staff were very efficient and freindly and the concierge went out of his way to help us aclimate ourselves to Dublin with all its sites to see and how to best to get around. The Knights Bar was a great place to grab some food and have a few drinks in a very relaxing atmosphere and the fine dining expereince in the Farenheight Restaurant was wonderful. Thank you Clontarf Castle and Staff.

Lovely experiencePosted Mar 16, 2018
Pros: I liked the decor the mixture of contemporary and modern efficiency with the key features of the Clontarf castle..
Cons: Very little needs to be improve ,The environment was excellent, the staff pleasant and the ambiance unforgettable.
Location: We were about a fifteen taxi ride from downtown Dublin, and there was public transportation a 8 minute walk from the hotel.
It started with us arriving much earlier then the normal check in time and being exhausted. The weather had us reroute our trip to get to Dublin in a timely fashion for a birthday celebration, The reception desk was so understanding and got us into a room without difficulty or extra charges, and that was the theme for our whole stay they were so responsive and accomodating. They suggested to us to include the breakfast deal and it was wonderful, catering to all our tastes and making the start of the the day energising.. High tea was wonderful and I learned a great deal about the different teas.

Excellence !Posted Mar 12, 2018
Pros: The standard and unique accommodation and the helpfulness and friendliness of the well informed staf- they are impressive
Location: Walks around the Bay 20 minutes walk away as is a regular bus service to Dublin centre and train station within walking distance to coastal resorts ,
A superb, quality hotel which deserves its 5 Star status in every way.The sheer ambience of the hotel in a sympathetic castle conversion is very impressive. The staff at the hotel, particularly those responsible for Reception ,were outstanding from arrvival to our departure.

Wonderful place to stayPosted Mar 6, 2018
Great Room! Great Hotel! Great Food! Only complaint is that the shower was small, even for European standards. Other than that, it was a most excellent and affordable choice.

Very good breakfast although we found the manager to be grumpy and unfriendly! The bar were not able to make our cocktails and the bar food was not great on our second visit!
