Preis-Leistung war in Ordnung!

Posted Sep 1, 2015

Highly Recommended

Pros: The staff were exceptional and its location was a plus for me. I just enjoyed tho whole experience of staying there.
Cons: The TVs in the rooms are a bit old and could do with an upgrade. I would also have liked a beer garden or somewhere to just sit and relax outside.
Location: Close to the motorway which will take you south to Cork or north to Belfast; plenty of small villages within walking distance, about 8 miles from town
Such reasonable prices for the quality of hotel; a small swimming pool and gym are available to all guests free of charge; pub prices for drinks in the bar, not the normal inflated hotel prices, live music four nights a week. I found the staff to be consistently friendly and helpful, the cleanliness of the public areas and my room was exceptional. The hall/stair carpets on my wing looked like they could do with a refresh but nevertheless were spotless. The food was mass produced but with fresh ingredients and an excellent selection, but don't expect high class cuisine as you might expect in another similar hotel, this was good 'wholesome' food and delicious at that. Because of its distance from Dublin Dity centre I would recommend hiring a car, but it is situated very near a motorway which makes touring an easy option. There is an excellent bus service right outside the hotel so travelling to town easy - I would not want to drive in the city because of the amount of traffic found there. Be aware that there are weddings, birthday parties, conferences etc every week and those guests also mingle with the hotel guests as do the locals who regularly use the bar/ restaurant - hence the good prices. The only downside was the aforementioned motorway which runs along the back of the hotel but the double glazing and extremely heavy curtains made the noise mostly unnoticeable - except if you opened the windows!

Not so clean!

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Carpets were filthy. We had blood splatter in the bathroom that we reported but no one came to clean. Not clean at all. Very noisy outside and no air circulation in room.

Awful stay

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Unbearable noise as right beside busy motorway. I found a dirty mattress protector on my bed and hairs in bathroom. To top it off the unbelievably small TV had no remote and the curtains didn't close properly ! Really unacceptable in 2015 - when I checked out - 3 staff behind counter and not one interested enough to ask me about my stay - poor all round

Pleasant stay.

Pros: Great accomodation, in particular, and good quality staff.
We had just a stopover en route to Galway. Efficient staff, great facilities and the Guinness was rather good, too.

Far from City Centre

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Allowed for 1 queen and 2 singles so it accommodated the family nicely so the kids didn't have to share.
Cons: Location!
Location: Out in the suburbs. Nothing to do within walking distance.
Room was fine, restaurant/bar was nice, but the location wasn't the greatest. It was about a 20-25 minute taxi to get to the city centre with all the action and train station. There was only one bus line that would go out that way and the timetable wasn't convenient. I wish we had stayed closer in because all of the tours required an early start from a central point.
