Nice hostel in downtown Dublin. I've never stayed in a hostel with so many beds in the room, but it was ok and a great price!

The hostel matches its price
I felt comfortable for its staffs and hotel cleanliness. The bed was actually clean and comfy. All were good except the old building. The shower rooms were old. But it is very cheap and is best choice of cheap dorm in Dublin

Downtown hostel
My place hostel is a mid range budget hostel. No frills attached, but none should be expected if you are booking budget hostel lodging in the center of Dublin. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hostel is nice and really clean, no problems for that. Staff is professional. The shower was cold from my point of you, and the air conditioning was not working in the room, it was really hot and humid, was hard to sleep correctly. But My place is a nice hostel, if I have another room next time or if the problem is fixed, I will definitely come back.

Convenient location
Good hostel for what you pay for it. The only things I could fault in it: there were only two plug points in a room of 12 and they could have used the space better in the hostel showering room. Some mirrors next to plug points would have been ideal. However, aside from that there were no other issues with my stay. There is a bus link to the airport right outside the hostel too, which was very convenient.

At the time, the air conditioning was out, and it was really hot especially with 18 people in one room. Staff was friendly.

Check in time was very quick, staff were friendly. Didnt like that there was no where to put bags in dorm. Would have felt safer if lockers were big enough to store my suitcase.

Great weekend in Dublin!!
Having stayed at my place hostel for the first time in April last year when the opportunity arose for a further trip to Dublin to watch a rugby match between Leinster and Bath my place was the obvious cheap option for me. Travelling on my own and meeting up with friends upon arrival in Dublin my place provides a ideal central location in order to walk/taxi to the numerous watering holes around Dublin and the RDS stadium for the rugby itself. The hostel is clean and tidy and provides ridiculously good value for individuals travelling alone like myself or wishing to have a cheap get away. It provides all the basic facilities required and have helpful and friendly staff available 24/7 to answer any queries. I would have no hesitation in booking again only thing i would say is perhaps not for those who want complete peace and quiet at night having shared a room but then that is part and parcel of staying in a hostel.

Straightforward hostel. Kitchen great but closed at lunchtime. TV with basic channels. Located in traditionally downmarket part of Dublin but safe enough. Wi fi difficulties. Staff great.

Great place
It was wonderful, good location, friendly staff. Only problem was the bathroom and showers were all the way in the basement , which was a bit of a walk down stairs.

Decent place for a few nights
We stayed in a 20-bed dorm with a big group of friends and despite the negative reviews we read online we found our stay there fine. Obviously, in a 20 bed room there is not much comfort but it's good enough if you are there for a few days. Would recommend it if you are on a budget.

The bathrooms for the dorm style rooms are in a basement with no heating. The place creaks a lot, but overall it was a fine experience for 4 nights

Worst experience of a night's stay! So far away from everything for starters. Three girls came for two nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice gentlemen who then told us that our beds were not together. Strike 1. We were then greeted by a very disturbing disgusting smell in the room, 20 beds, 17 occupied by men. Great. Finding our (separate) beds, two of them had other people's luggage on there so we went to complain and the receptionist came to our room and bagged up their belongings. We got ready in about ten minutes to escape the place and when we arrived back at 4am, there was a human being in one of our beds!!! Again, we complained and managed to get another room which we were pleased with. Then 10am in comes another guy asking "girls, why are you in here?" Excuse you. Your colleague put us in here actually. He said "well we have 18 guys moving in here so you have to move." Strike 2. Out we were, moved into the dungeons that were "showers" and 2 euro rented towel- cheek. By this time, we already paid for another place to stay. The staff couldn't care less that we were not satisfied and had a terrible stay! Nice one! By the way, we moved to a fantastic hostel ten minutes away from the hole, and our last night was fantastic!

Dublin is a wonderful city - but this hostel is in a very depressing part of town. It is amazing that the hostel shower room has planning permission at all. The hostel bunk beds are worn out and there is no fresh air circulating. The staff are helpful, but the hostel facilities are very run down. Explore all your other options before making a booking in the hostel rooms here.

Sheets are clean, bed are almost ok, but the room is too big, and noise sometimes during the night. There was a windown with one of its glass broken, lucky for us, it was not too cold outside to prejudice everyone with the cold air that was coming in. The bathroom facilities were super strange, like the toilet part is ok, but the showers... were like in a corridor, some with curtains, some don't. And I had to test a dozen showers before I found one which had really warm water. I complained to the reception about it, and the guys were like "it should be fine". My boyfriend saw some guys in the men's room smoking pot or whatever, which we found really strange, lucky for us, it was on our last day.

Was in Dublin just for one night, had to be in bed early for early flight so I just went for the cheapest bed I could find. Woke a few times with people coming in and out through the night but that's what you expect in a large dorm room. Toilets and showers a long way from the bedrooms but they were fine. Cleanliness and service were fine but I just checked in and went straight to bed really so don't know how it would be if you had a complaint etc. Didn't use kitchen or common room but had a quick look and they seemed nice enough with a few pool tables (which you pay for) and comfy chairs. Location just slightly outside town centre (but Dublin is fairly compact so it's still only 10-15 minutes walk to the main sights if that's what you're into), good for getting to airport, free parking on street after 7pm and straight on road to airport. 41 bus stops right outside too. Would use again for overnight trips but if staying longer would probably invest in private room if I could afford it.

Great convenient location
Nicely located, walking distance to main attraction (Temple Bar)!! Front desk staff are great and very helpful! Cheap shuttle bus to airport (5/6 euros pp). Great for a fun/party filled weekend with friends!

Don't expect much; won't get much.
Well, you get what you pay for. Didn't expect much and that I indeed got. Just wanted a clean bed and shower facilities for a night. Did meet a wonderful academic from Tanzania by way of Berlin, however.

Worst accom i've ever had
Dublin was booked out so this was a last resort for me. Extremely impersonal environment, no ability to charge my only form of communication unless in the common room, inconsiderate roommates (understandably out of their control however requesting quiet signs from midnight were around). The room was so hot and uncomfortable I considered sleeping in my car. Bathrooms were like a dirty dungeon. Just awful.

The hostel room was clean, but smelled a little like feet, but the over bed reading lamps were a nice touch I'd not seen in many other hostels. Staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. Also, convenient location in Central Dublin.

We booked out one of their 8 bed rooms and were really pleased. Lovely big room and real beds not bunk beds! Staff were friendly and the location was very handy for nearby restaurants and pubs. One of the best hostels we've stayed in.

Vacation to Ireland
I liked My Place Hostel. I stayed there for 2 weeks. I would definitely stay there again. The staff was so great! Very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and bright. The cost was very affordable. The only downfall was that I could hear the door open and close every time someone went out. I could also hear conversations in the room above mine. But, like I said, for the cost of the stay, I would stay there again. Thank you.

The building is slightly confusing - probably two knocked into one. The people in Reception was friendly and welcoming, and helpful (gave me directions). The room (a dormitory) was squeaky-clean, and was pleasantly warm. The showers were a bit difficult to find, and hadn't been mopped for a day or two. The breakfast was warm, filling and good value. All in all a 4-star experience.

On arrival I was given a bag with my pillow, quilt and linen to dress my own bed.Thats ok.I dressed my bed and went out for the night .When I arrived there was somebody asleep in my bed.I was very annoyed.I dont think this person was even supposed to be staying at the hostel as when I told him he was in my bed he got dressed and left.I had to get fresh linen and slept in a different bed that wasn't being used.Also the quilts are very flimsy and I felt cold all night.

Terrible experience at My Place Hostel, thanks to hotel.com we didn get what we paid for we were told we had a private room for 4 when we got there we were In a 20 mixed dorm with no lights and the smell of stale sweat was disgusting. Defo would not reccomend it!!

- Key cards to rooms have to be re-issued daily or they cease to work - The showers are not finished yet, and the contractors employed to tile the showers were employed at inconvenient hours e.g. during the evening when many guests would need to use the few showers that actually work. - A cleaner once told me that the showers and toilets were 'closed' because she has decided to clean them at 8am, I'm a bit of an early bird admittedly, but sure there are less busy times of the day to be cleaning. - A homeless person managed to find his way in to the hostel one night and decided to sleep in one of the blind spots on the security cameras. In short. My Place Dublin is not finished yet.

You know what, I messed up on my reservations and instead of paying full price for a three star hotel that didn't deserve the rating, I stayed here for one night, and it was kind of cool. The people were nice and friendly. It is really not such a bad place to stay when you are in a pinch and you need budget accomodations. The staff is excellent!
