Good location

Posted Apr 14, 2016
Pros: It's location near to local amenities.
Cons: The standard of accommodation and the reception area.
Location: Close to St Stephen's Green, Trinity College and city centre shops and restaurants.
The hotel is situated close to Grafton Street and the Temple Bar area and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance where tradition Irish fare can be enjoyed together with the usual Italian and Asian cuisine etc. The Green Line Luas is nearby which provides direct access to Leapardstown for racegoers. The hotel reception area is shabby and uninviting and the restaurant shown on the website is closed. Having said that, the staff members on duty during our stay were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room had not been refurbished and the bedroom was tired and poorly lit. The bathroom also was in need of updating and the shower not very efficient. However, the room was clean and the beds comfortable.

Gute Lage,guter Preis

Posted Mar 6, 2016

Don't stay here!

Posted Feb 26, 2016 on Hotels
When we arrived we had no light in the room just the bedside night lights. We complained and were given a lamp that didn't work. We were offered a different room but it has the same light issues! There was no hairdryer, we had to ask for that as well! The walls are very thin and you can hear through them, keeping my mum up throughout the night. Not very helpful staff oh and a grotty bathroom!

Great location, close to many pubs, cafes. The only problem with the hotel room was the hot water. At night have to wait long time for hot water and even after long time wasn't very hot.

Good hotel in convenient location

Posted Feb 19, 2016
Pros: Staff, shower and heating (super tasty room)
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great position for exploring the city
Great staff that were happy to take our bags and store before checkin, friendly and always checking everything ok. Perfect balance of friendliness and professional. All room amenities good, whilst the room was a little compact, the bed was super comfy, we had full control of the heating and the shower was great (which is unusual for a travelodge with the water saving showerheads)

Most unsatisfactory, will not be back

Posted Jan 24, 2016 on Hotels
three lights in the bathroom, two didn't work so they were useless at the mirror; ran the shower for ages but only got cold water at the 'hot' end and perishingly cold water at the 'cold' end of the lever. When I complained at reception, the very polite lady told me that I would have to run the water for 10-15 minute to get hot water, and preferably for 15mins!!! I said there should be a notice in the room to alert guests to that extraordinary state of affairs. Lighting in the room was not good - a desk with no light, electric sockets UNDER the desk. The H sign was missing from a tap in the handbasin and the floor looked like it needed either scrubbing or steam cleaning in one spot. It is not possible to get any food or drink in this hotel once the bar closes about 7pm!!On the plus side, the people at reception at all times were charming, courteous and helpful. Is this place managed at a distance?

Short one night stay for a concert nearby. The Hotel was central and suited needs as not much time was being spent in the room.

Great location, breakfast, and wifi

Posted Jan 4, 2016 on Hotels
The location here next to St. Stephen's Green is great- shopping, many pubs, restaurants, and your typical Dublin tourist spots within walking distance. As for transportation to and from the airport, there is a bus stop about 10 min walk away, with pick up and drop off service for less than 10 euro per person. Breakfast vouchers can be purchased for the cafe next door, which was delicious!! It was a little grubby looking in some areas of the hotel/room, but the other perks made up for it!
