Superb hotel, close to city, excellent staff

Posted Dec 1, 2016
Booked this hotel as part of a birthday trip and the staff went out their way to ensure it was a special occasion - leaving chocolates and a card in the room. The room was great, lovely views, quiet and well provisioned. I've stayed in hotels that claim to be boutique but this was really was: individual and modern. Great deco, and nice touches like slippers and white company toiletries. Bar does amazing cocktails, breakfast range very good, and the health club has excellent sauna, steam room, pool and gym facilities. Very easy to get to from the airport and quick link to the red Luas line. Would highly recommend.

Great hotel for weekend break in Dublin

Posted Nov 25, 2016
Pros: Clean with a nice atmosphere Location good for city centre.
Location: Located in the financial district. Plenty of nearby grocery stores, cafe's. We went to the energy theatre which is only a 5min walk away.
Stayed in the Spencer during a weekend break to Dublin. The hotel was really nice and the location is ideal for accessing the city centre on foot. We did not eat in the hotel or use the leisure facilities so cannot comment on these. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Overpriced room, exorbitant parking

Posted Nov 23, 2016
Very average hotel, overpriced. Small room, facilities moderate. No hotel parking, sent to a public park 350 metres from hotel door. "Special'rate 18 euro overnight. As an Irish traveller, am used to much better for that kind of price. Won't be staying at the Spencer again.

Generic hotel but helpful staff

Posted Nov 22, 2016
Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: Housekeeping.
Location: On the banks of the Liffey, close to the Convention centre.
We arrived very early, hoping to be able to leave our luggage whilst we explored until check in. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in straight away as there was a room ready. The desk staff were extremely helpful with recommendations for things to see and do. The room was as expected - the bed comfortable - a little tricky to keep the temperature to our liking though. The bathroom was kept well, though there was little evidence of housekeeping in the bedroom. A glass of water left from the previous night was not cleared away and the floor was obviously not cleaned. But this did not stop us enjoying our stay. It was a tidy step into town, but there is plenty of public transport to help.

Quite basic , but the little you get is good

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Did the job , it's a expensive city , all hotels are quite expensive .the room was clean , felt like a pod you would spend one night in rather than a week .if your going out and about great , if you want to spend time in room and enjoy the views perhaps be very careful with your selection .

Hotel with character and warmth, lovely ambience!!

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: Overall experience was good! Convenient location and being in front river and bridge gives it added advantage. In-house dining area was also very nice. Staffs were courteous. So wonderful but would have been super star rating as I fail to understand why they charged €140 just for swapping the room same to same basis. But otherwise very good experience and would like visit again if they refund that €140
Cons: The hotel charged extra €140 just for swapping the room on same specifications (one advantage-it was front facing One disadvantage-traffic noise) very disappointed to pay that extra €140 for no added service or specification.
Location: Location of the hotel is good with food joints and city centre very close-by.

Beautiful view of the Liffey and downtown Dublin

Good hotel but staff promised a wake up call which didn't come through. Well appointed and modern with all facilities in might need.

Nice hotel

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: The reception area. The long table with computers right in the middle was an eyesore. This could have been better placed somewhere more discreet.
Location: Only a 15 minute walk to the main city with the bars and shops on either side of the river. There was a bus stop just a stones throw away if needed.
Stayed here recently on a short break with a friend. The hotel was perfectly situated just a short walk away from the noise and crowds of the main city. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well presented. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and professional. The hot buffet breakfast was excellent and had a great choice of food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Dublin.
