there are a lot of hidden charges in this place. you have to pay for everything. it is a beach resort and you have to pay for parasols, chez longs and the covers that go on top!!!! in other words, you have only paid for the rooms, but everything else is chargeable. Wi-fi does not work everywhere. Even in the areas where it is supposed to work, it doesnt. Food buffet is very poor selection, only two dishes to select from. You have to pay for soft drinks and water even though it is a buffet. Quite sad when our little one wanted apple juice and the machine was locked! We found it easy to manage our stay as we drove to the resort so we went to local stores and restaurants as better alternatives.

Close to Dubrovnik
My wife and I stayed at this location for 3 days because she wanted to see her friend who was vacationing there. Pro's: close to Dubrovnik, nice beach with clean but cold water (when compared to other places at the Adriatic). Con's: Terrible parking and mediocre restaurant.

Great stay away from city centre madness
This was a great location with nice rooms. great views from the room and pool. didn't get to sample the food. wifi is weak in the rooms and only works at the reception. About 15 mins drive the crowded Old Town. Very helpful staff that will arrange everything for you.

Beautiful area, stay elseware
Hotel is about to be demolished and many buildings are already destroyed hollowed out concrete shells. Thankfully, Our room was a large suite and although old, was well maintained. Otherwise we would have left. Only wifi/internet access in a few public spaces and it was terrible quality. Breakfast horrible.

Okay hotel
Right next to beach, about 20 mins drive (on bus or taxi) from Dubrovnik. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean. Staff were very disappointing. Apart from one man who told us about a veggie restaurant, all staff were moody and unfriendly. Possibly the worst barman ever, who aggressively moaned that he didn't have any more glasses and 'there is no time' when a customer said his beer was too warm and when we tried to order tea and ice cream.

Room in a villa.
This "hotel" is a series of villas. The family room we shared suited us very well. The weather was very fine so the distances between villa, reception, pool and breakfast area did not matter. It gave you a feeling of space. The steps were steep, however, and would not suit everybody (elderly, disabled, people with pushchairs). The beach was good but all pebbles. Access to boats was good and they provided a very convenient way to get around. We enjoyed our stay, and would consider staying again.

Convenient for airport
Stopped for one night good clean cheap and a beach right on the doorstep don't stay here if you have problems with steps or hills! Not many amenities available on site have to travel into town but if you crave peace and quiet then it's perfect.

We booked an apartment with partial sea view but it was blocked by tree. You need a car unless you prepare to get taxi. I would go back to stay here because the pool is fantastic. There is a mini market on site that you buy fresh bread in the morning. Beautiful setting.

comfotable hotel by the beach
A bit of distance from Dubrovnik so one needs a car or public transport eg boat from a jetty near hotel. Beach is good with clear waters. Choice of 2 restaurants and pool bar which were alright. perhaps a few more sun lingers by the pool would be good.

Horrible - don't waste your money!
The hotel decided to change our reservation at the last minute (therefore we could not cancel and find an alternative) due to 'technical difficulties'. The new hotel was much further away. As we had paid for a transfer, could not redeem it - so we lost money there which they would not reimburse. We had paid for a sea-view room at Villas Plat, at the new hotel we were given a 'bush view room'. The new hotel itself was just horrible, stains on the carpet, mould all over the bathroom, and a cockroach in the bed. No words can describe how upset we are.

Good complex next to beach
Easy to get to by taxi from the airport, approx 20 minutes. Went for self catering option and the little kitchen was perfect. The rooms were cleaned daily. The salt water pool was excellent as were the small beaches around the complex. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were several places to eat on site. No car but travelled by boat/bus at reasonable rates.

Superb villa, beautiful country.
Villa was clean, comfortable and had daily room service, only item it lacked was a kettle. Sad to hear it's bring flattened next year and a new complex being built - it will loose the character it currently has.

Really nice hotel right on the beach
We stayed here in August/September 2015. The staff were lovely - really helpful and friendly. It's a fairly big hotel with apartments and hotel blocks spread over the hillside and over three beaches. It's on a hill so there are lots of steps and slopes to negotiate so it wouldn't be a good bet for anyone with mobility problems. We got water taxis to Dubrovnik and Cavtat, but if we went back we would hire a car as the cost of these adds up and you would be able to see more of the area with a car. Breakfast was nice (not fantastic) but nice with cheese and meets and pastries. We ate at the hotel twice and the food was OK but we preferred to eat out. The sunsets are amazing, and the guys who sell the water taxi tickets and organise the water sports are fantastic. It has a huge pool, which has a lovely setting (although we didn't use it as we prefer the beach. Overall, I'd highly recommend it.

A hidden paradise close to Dubrovnik
Beautiful resort with it's own beaches and a pool. Views are breathtakingly stunning from every spot, but level +1 of villas are the best, overlooking the evergreen trees and the sea. Staff is very friendly and professional, especially Mr. Bacic, one of the managers. All 4 restaurants have good food and the best views to enjoy any time of the day and are open 'till late.

Great Hotel for visiting Dubrovnik.
I booked my holiday last minute, and could find no hotels in Dubrovnik that seemed a reasonable quality at a reasonable price, so instead booked this hotel, several miles away in Plat, which is part of the Dubrovnik Riviera, after reading the reviews, in particular one by another single traveller - who had commented on the ease of reaching Dubrovnik from the hotel. Overall I was delighted with my decision. The hotel (which comprises Hotel Orphee, Villas Plat and Villas Eva and Felicia - known collectively as Hotel Plat) was pleasant - with helpful staff, sufficient breakfast buffet, a lovely pool, and nearby beaches. Even in the peak season it did not seem particularly busy - and was a peaceful and relaxing stay - compared with the bustle of Dubrovnik. My room in Villas Plat included equipment for cooking - and had a beautiful view over the bay - a view that became all the more beautiful as the sun was setting. From the hotel there were a variety of ways to reach both Dubrovnik and Cavat (which was only a few miles away) - bus, shuttle bus (Dubrovnik only) or boat - which the staff explained to me on my arrival. Every day I visited Dubrovnik by shuttle bus, which the hotel organised, and was typically the only person on the bus - returning in the evening by cab, although the cab was a comparatively expensive option. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Dubrovnik but happy not to stay in the city centre.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location.
We had a great time here. Our room had a view of the sea and a really big terrace, which was great, we really enjoyed sitting out there. It is about a twenty minute drive to Dubrovnik, but there is a daily shuttle. One thing I really liked overall was the fact that there was no shortage of sunbeds down at the pool!

Family Holiday
The setting of the hotel is lovely. The pool area was great. The two pebble beaches were great. the staff were very helpful and friendly. the accommodation was basic and clean and we were lucky to get a huge balcony. the area is peaceful and located between Dubrovnik and Cavtat. We had a rental car which I would recommend for Croatia anyway. Had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel no problem, particularly the price when compared.

Best hotel in the area
We had a lovely stay at the self-catering Villa Barbara at Plat with a small kitchen and a nice balcony. We loved swimming in the sea from the 3 pebble beaches at the hotel and the fantastic infinity pool. We had a car so exploring was easy, but we also one day got a boat from the hotel to the Island of Lokrum which was great. King restaurant, a short walk from the hotel was very good.

Great sea view and pool in this Plat 1960's hotel
My wife & I stayed at Plat Hotels & Villas in September 2014 and had a great time. Villas Eva and Felicia rooms all have direct sea views and are less than 100 metres from the sea. We stayed in Villa Eva. The rooms are basic but very clean and the beds comfortable. Aircon is included and 4:3 CRT TV with 2 English news channels (BBC World News & CNN), also a couple of English channels showing movies. We stayed half board and the buffet-style dinner was excellent, varied and plentiful. Breakfast was also buffet style with the same choice every day - cereal, eggs, meats, sausages, bread, toast, yoghurt, fruit, etc. The salt water infinity pool is lovely (if a little cool). The views are superb with mountains and panoramic coastal views to enjoy while you swim or sunbathe. Buses to Dubrovnik and Cavtat are every half hour (£1.80 one-way) from the main road which is a 10-15 minute uphill walk away. We're walkers anyway, so not a problem. Rooms are quiet, although there were a lot of early risers who woke us as early as 6:45 most mornings. Wi-fi and safe deposit boxes were available in Reception for about. £1.00 a day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a few small shops in the complex but nothing else nearby. The nearest bars and shops are in Kupari near Mlini about 5 kms along the coast.

Promsising, but needs a lot of maintenance
The location is nest to being perfect. But they really need to look into how they can demolish some of the old concrete buildings from the Tito(?) period, surroumdg the area. And also the villas need to be upgraded to the 21st Century standards. But nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay - even if we think it was a little too pricy considering the maintenance needs. And honestly, to charge guests 10 EUR to get WiFi in some areas near the reception, when the network offered didn't live up to the standards at all is just to 2005!

Villa Eva
Lovely complex for the most part, although it was sad to have the abandoned buildings there. There is little outside of the hotel and villa grounds at Plat. However with boats regularly to get to places along a gorgeous coastline ie to Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Lokrum, and coach excursions on offer to places like Mostar in Bosnia there is loads to do . The beach, pool, chance to dive, jet ski etc mean there is something for everyone. We stayed in Villa Eva in a room with a small balcony overlooking the beach. Stunning view! Wonderful sunsets! A Comfortable room with air con and maid service every morning. Only thing that would have improved it was to have had a fridge in the room . It was hot and we really missed having access to one.

Good pool but hotel a bit run down
Typical resort hotel with private beach - it was overall ok. It has a nice swimmng pool (main reason for our booking), rooms are clean and the staff is pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately some of the buildings within the resort are falling down (some covered with thick green net) - they are unused - but they really look bad. when you are on the beach or you swim out and you look back to land unfortunately what you see is a few run down buildings that just need to be refurbished (or demolished)

Amazing pool
Villa Diane clean /serviced daily. Breakfast was plentyiful with lots of options. Pool was amazing, with wonderful views. Pizza at the resort was the best we have ever tasted. Cav tat is £2.00 each way, and its a beautiful village plenty of restaurants to choose from, amazing at night. We had Pasta dishes that only cost £4.00 . Saturday evening we were lucky as a carnival paraded , lots of live music and acts as well. Dubrovnic is wonderful , purchased the 3 day card £20.in hine site we should have bought one day card instead as you can only go along the city walls once , we went along walls late afternoon as couldnt go in eve as the walls shut a 7pm. Vegaterian resturant served lovely food, but would advise to book up if you wish to eat after 7pm as it gets very busy. nice hotel, very far from city and horrible servic
The hotel had nice amenities, beautiful pool and nice private beach. Rooms were exactly what you needed, nice terrace and ours had an ocean view. The waitress and the bartender gave horrible service, the bartender was grumpy and intimidating and the waitress would never come to our table and made us wait forever for her to help you. No elevators so be prepared to carry your package uphill and many flights of stairs. 170 kuna to town, which is about 35.00 USD one way. Hotel has a ferry to take you to town for 50 kuna a person, but it only goes at a certain times.

Ok. Wouldn't stay again.
Room was fine. Very basic but had a sink and 2 hot plates. Fridge in our room did not work and we asked to have this fixed and it was not/could not be. Balcony was great. Linens on the beds were too small so was a bit awkward to sleep (twin beds with sheets and duvet smaller than twin size). Power outlets were not reliable. Pool has a beautiful view but needs a refresh. We asked hotel to book us a taxi for our flight in the morning. Taxi driver ripped us off. Of course this is not the hotel but since they are the ones who booked it in advance, it reflects very poorly on them.
