In addition to the beautiful turquoise blue and pine green surroundings of the national park and despite rooms' smaller size, rather dated decor and facilities ( a/c struggelling on hot nights, some matresses more comfortable than others, occasionally unpleasant odour from the bathroom plumbing ) it's the management ( Davor the hotel manager, Ivan the Front Desk manager, Marie the Restaurant manager ) and staff who make even a 3 week stay at the Odisej like mine very pleasant and relaxing. Front Desk staff ( Ivana, Josip ) go an extra mile to find you your perfect room ( top floor is my preference ) or have a balcony furniture item replaced promptly, Housekeeping try to accommodate your personal timing and frequency preferences, Beach Boy ( David ) will thoughtuflly keep a couple of fresh towels on the stand after hours ( whilst he is tidying the deckchairs for the night ) for those of us who like a late swim, mostly smiling and enthusiastic staff at the main restaurant ( Jasmina, Gabriella, Robin, Filip ) are polite, pay attention to detail, will find a minute to chat if you feel chatty or be unobtrusive and discreet if you feel like keeping to yourself. All you can eat buffet dinners make the good value for money at the hotel even better. Food is more enjoyable some eveings than others but there is always something tasty to chose from. Fresh fruit offerings were unimaginative for middle of summer (no local peaches, apricots), but some cakes were devilishly tempting
