Nice hotel in downtown Dubuque.

Very comfortable room. They are doing some major renovations. Can't wait to see this hotel when they are done.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at

We got to the hotel and we are on the 4th floor my 83 year old mother almost fell as she got off the elevator because there is rolls of carpeting all over the floor. If I hadn't been right there to catch her she would have been injured badly from the fal. We then proceeded to go to the room and it was on the worst condition ever it smelled horrible and I was in terrible condition l. They did eventually switches to another room which was in better condition but it was just a horrible experience

Nice hotel in the midst of a remodel

"Newly renovated" on Expedia's description of this hotel actually mean being renovated right now. That said, the hotel management did everything they could to keep this from inconveniencing guests, including a $5 voucher to make up for the fact that breakfast was served in a meeting room rather than the restaurant. Everything else was very nice, though parking is limited. The location is awesome-- right in the middle of Dubuque's sweet little downtown arts district. You can walk to the museum.

When I made the reservation I was told because I called on the phone yhe next day to upgrade I'd possible and I asked did you see my special request I have an emotional support dog. The clerk said yes and the 35.00 fee will be waived. Upon arrival the front desk clerk said emtional support is not a service animal and there will be a 35.00 charge. I told him the front desk clerk said there wasn't one when I called and he said well my manager reminded me today to be sure and collect the 35.00 fee. I think all front desk clerks should all be on the same page regarding additional room charges.

The room door was difficult to open. The remote for the TV did not work. The hotel was going under renovation that was badly needed.

Poor follow through

Our room had a horrible odor to it. Brought it to the attention of the front desk and they sent maintenance to check on it. No other rooms to move us to and no way to get rid of the smell. Manager on Duty offered us drinks(at 11:30pm) or lunch (we were already going to be gone) Was told they couldn't adjust rate because it went through Hotels.com. Said they would have the General Manager call me to figure out something for a future stay. 2 months later and no call. Will go to another hotel that is cheaper and cleaner.

Nice hotel in good location.

Pros: The facilities, staff, free shuttle and cleanliness.
Cons: Nothing once renovations are finished.
Location: Location is mainly the base for cruising the Mississippi which is a must do. It was a great experience. Also ride the chairlift in the town. Great fun
The hotel was renovating the restaurant but they did everything they could to compensate us. Very clean and comfortable hotel in a great little town.

Friendly service, overall good value

We were passing through on a road trip and wanted a clean, safe place to stay. The hotel was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The parking structure is a bit cumbersome--each level has a different entrance. No free breakfasts here, but very friendly and helpful front desk staff.
