Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you find our staff friendly - this means a lot to us. We will check the pillow issue you described and will make appropriate measures. Please allow me to give you an advice for the next time – fill free to ask the reception for another pillow. It is true that our hotel is 20km far from the Düsseldorf. Anyway it is conveniently situated for motorists, because almost all key destinations of our region are quickly to access. By the way - Dusseldorf International Airport is easily accessible by our hotel shuttle, where you can change to the train directly to Düsseldorf City. We are looking forward to welcome you again soon. Best regards! Anna M. Manager Assistant

Reasonably priced hotel near Dusseldorf airport

Posted Dec 6, 2016
Pros: Hotel desk staff and restaurant staff were courteous, helpful and very professional. The hotel restaurant food and waiters were very good.
Cons: Consider an earlier start for airport shuttle service.
Location: The hotel's location was acceptable; located about 15 km from the airport. There is some traffic noise from a nearby highway but it was not a problem.
We selected the Mercure Hotel Dusseldorf Airport since we had a 6AM international flight out of that airport and wanted to be at the airport by 4AM. The Mercure is reasonably priced when you compare it to hotels located next to the airport that cost 100 Euros more per night. Since the Mercure's shuttle service does not begin until 5:30 AM, we took a taxi to the airport which was coordinated for us by front desk staff. There are lots of estimates online that note the taxi fare to the airport would be over 40 Euros; our taxi cost 32 Euros. We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel's restaurant and both were excellent. You could tell that there was someone in the restaurant's kitchen who cared very much about using fresh, quality ingredients in each dish served. Also, the restaurant wait staff were attentive to guest needs without being intrusive; the restaurant manager was present making sure everything ran smoothly but did so without fanfare: well done! The room was clean and the bedding/linen were fresh and new in appearance.

It is indeed a strategic location within short distance from the Airport and Düsseldorf City. It is great to hear you truly enjoyed our Lunch & Dinner and find our wait staff attentive. We very appreciated your comments regarding our kitchen, since our chef is caring very much about using fresh and quality ingredients in each dish, exactly you have mentioned in your comment. Our entire team is grateful for your compliments regarding our helpful and very professional stuff - it is great to hear. Thank you also for your comment regarding shuttle service time. We will reconsider an earlier start for airport shuttle service. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly next time you are coming to Düsseldorf, I will be delighted to look after you and your reservation. We are already looking forward to welcome you back here in our Hotel. Warm Regards,

Three day stay

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Location: Not an area for shopping or entrainment- quiet area for a stay and very cost competitive to other hotels.
Clean, great staff, good food and quiet. Left early to go to the airport and the shuttle service was not available - got shocked on the taxi price to the airport- triple the cost of the hotel shuttle service.

Nice German hotel

Posted Sep 3, 2016
Pros: The bathrooms were clean and up to date
Cons: More variety for breakfast since it is not included in the price.
Location: There is not a lot to do in the area. You will have to commute. But it is close to the airport.
The hotel was clean, staff friendly and spoke English. Very clean. Great that it had a restaurant.

"Airport hotel" is nowhere near the airport!!!

Posted Jun 13, 2016
Pros: Room was comfortable
Cons: Breakfast, Breakfast staff, CHEF!
Location: Nothing nearby. Asked for a ATM and was offer Sat Nav coordinates to get to it!!!
Advertised as the airport hotel, misleading as the location is in the middle of nowhere. Taxi to Dusseldorf is 50 Euro, taxi to airport is 40-50 Euro. Breakfast is NOT value for money. Lack of choice, Juice machine did not work, so fresh orange juice is warm. Warm items were not replenished until asked for - and new scrambled eggs were simply poured into the bowl where the crusty old scrambled eggs were and mixed in! When seated for breakfast no new pot of coffee supplied, we were expected to drink the jug left by the people who have just left the table!! Overall not impressed by the misleading hotel description ie. NOT near airport and poor-average breakfast which costs 12 Euros per person!!! 2/5

Dear L, thank you for taking the time to write about your stay at our hotel. It is true that our hotel is 13km far from the airport and conveniently situated for motorists because almost all key destinations of our region like fairgrounds (Essen and Duesseldorf) or cities (Dusseldorf, Essen, Duisburg) are quickly to access. The Dusseldorf International Airport is easily accessible by our hotel shuttle. I have to apologize for the bed breakfast service – it is absolutely unacceptable. I spoke already with our F&B Manager and we took appropriate measures. Sincerely, Anna M. Manager Assistant

Airport stay

Posted Apr 16, 2016
It is a bit out of the way from the airport, but the value of the stay is good. Only item is the pay for the hotel shuttle- the hotel is 10 km from the airport and the shuttle cost is half of the taxi cost. The staff and food at the hotel are excellent- I can't say enough about the staff : very attentive to the travellers needs.

Business trip

Posted Mar 21, 2016
Pros: Clean & tidy
Cons: Staff need to focus on the customer and not themselves. Maybe as its not there job they thought it didn't matter. Remember who pays your wages!!!
Location: Not a lot going on at all. Heavy with traffic during rush hour and takes forever getting to & from the airport during rush hours!
Flying visit to Dusseldorf but couldn't get a flight out that night so needed a hotel under £100! They call it an airport hotel but its a little too far out for that. Needed to drop a hire vehicle off so that was a pain. Took me ages to check out as there was a queue yet managers and staff came from the back office and just ignored the queue of people. Didn't seem in any great hurry and doesn't set a very good impression.

It's not in Dusseldorf and it's not at the airport

Posted Mar 16, 2016
I have given this two stars rather than one, because I assumed that it would be in or at least close to the airport without checking the location properly. It's 12km from the airport, which is probably fine if you have a car but otherwise inconvenient because it is poorly served by public transport. You can pay nine euros for them to come and collect you from the airport. If you're going to the Messe centre the only option other than taxi is to pay them ten euros for their shuttle bus. This would be acceptable if it ran on time but this week it was 25 minutes late which is no good if you have made appointments at the fair. A taxi from the Messe to the hotel costs 45 euros. A taxi from the centre of Dusseldorf to the airport cost 60 euros, I assume this is a good fare for the driver because he whooped with delight/disbelief when I told him where I was going. They were doing building work at the hotel for the duration of my stay, which I wasn't informed of in advance of the booking. The terms and conditions prohibit me from mentioning room rates but needless to say the prices are significantly higher during trade fairs making it very poor value for money. This is a problem with most hotels in Dusseldorf of course. The breakfast was quite good quality but is expensive. The staff were generally polite but unhelpful with problems like the late running of the shuttle. The cleanliness of the rooms was at least good but their condition is tired. I cannot recommend based on this stay.
