Nothing in the room for the kitchen. Customer service was awful. I honesty wish I had my money back!

The gentleman that checks me in is pleasant and fun to talk to. My room is always clean. Wish they supplied dishes, utensils and coffee bar. But can survive without.

We are delighted you chose to stay at Extended Stay America. After reading your comment, it seems our front desk personnel failed to communicate to you about our kitchenware policy. Our kitchenware is kept at the front desk to ensure its cleanliness, and it is available on request. We regret the inconvenience caused and ensure clear communications going forward. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon. Sincerely, Hotel Management

The hotel staff gave us trouble trying to check in because we wanted to pay in cash

Sam, thank you for staying with us and letting us know you had an overall pleasant visit. However, we are sorry you were inconvenienced by our payment policy. It is our hotel’s policy not to accept cash as a form of payment. We must have a credit or debit card on file for each reservation to cover incidentals during your stay. This is standard industry practice at reputable hotel chains, and we will take steps to communicate this more clearly in the future. It was our pleasure accommodating you, and we hope to see you the next time your travels bring you to our area. Sincerely, Hotel Management

No real continental breakfast available

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: close to Duelles Expo Hall
Cons: customer service, room service, real breakfast
check out was delayed due to reception desk was empty. Was asked to charge 10 dollars for cleaning services. Was asked to bring our towel down to get new towels.

Sofa was not possible to use as bed. The mattress and the springs could simply not be slept on. Additionally, the sofa was outright disgusting, while the rest of the room was only semi-dirty and smelly.

Nightmare

Posted Oct 15, 2017
I will keep this simple..stay somewhere else 1. Roaches I. Bathroom and bug crawled on us in the bed 2. Lights from outside shine in through the window right onto the bed. It's a design flaw the set up from the window. 3. No dished8 in the room, it has a kitchenette, no coffee pot, no glass for water. Nothing 4. A.c. turns on and off all night. It's loud.

No shuttle to airport

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: Quiet. Not in congested area. Has kitchen facilities. Large full-sized fridge. Stove-top worked well.
Cons: Mattress on bed. Curtain needs to be room darkening all the way across.
Location: Close to highway but far enough away to be quieter.
Bed was hard. Mattress quite uncomfortable. Dishes were not already in cabinets, but when I asked for them, they brought them in a plastic bin and there were two of everything (plates, glasses, forks, spoons, etc.). Pans were not the sort I usually use (Teflon coated). Shower was fine (my husband is picky about that, so that's commendable). No one was at desk when we left (but it was 4:30 a.m.). Didn't get to eat breakfast at that hour so can't comment on that. Room was on ground floor as I requested and the curtain did not prevent light from streaming in the edge of the window. We had to get the desk person to come get the DVD player to work. But she did and she was cheerful enough about that and about giving us the dishes. She really was helpful. Because we were downstairs it was fairly quiet, but room walls were not sound deadening. The hotel is not in a noisy area, though. Not next to main road. AC worked but a ceiling fan would have been nice.

Walked in and had two double beds (paid for a king size bed) was then told that no king beds were available (then why was I charged a higher price for a king bed?). After the initial shock of two double beds the smell hit us, the room smelled like ramen noodles and medicine. My 15 month old son pulled out the cutting board that still had stuff on it (as in chunks of stuff not like a stain), told that we would have utensils and such we didn't, the fridge had left over milk in it, the drain in the bathroom didn't have a stopper so my son couldn't take a bath, the "pillows" might as well have been just the pillow case, the air conditioner didn't work, and the couch was disgusting. No soap or anything to wash off with one towel and one wash cloth the entire room, no coffee pot. Wouldn't tell my worst enemy to stay here.

Convenient to Dulles... nothing more.

Posted Sep 5, 2017
Pros: Convenience to Dulles/Smithsonian.
Cons: If it's listed as a non-smoking room, please make sure it does not smell of cigarette smoke.
Location: Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian Air & Space museum.
Room smelled of cigarette smoke, even though it was listed, and signed as a non-smoking room. No other rooms available with same amount/style of beds, so we had to sleep there. Very cramped with two adults and three young children. Air conditioner blows right across the pullout sofa-bed, so the children had runny noses all the next day. We had to move furniture to accommodate the pull out bed. Staff was very friendly, and as helpful as they could be, given the circumstances.
