Overall average experience. It's an inexpensive hotel and it has the basics.

everything is average of the place and mostly what one expects of an Econolodge. On the day of my visit, though, a bunch of thuggish looking people dwell on the parking lot for several hours on a hot summer day and I didn't dare to get to my car for the duration

I paid for a King size smoke free room, as soon as we walked into the room all you could smell was smoke. There was even cigarettes burn holes in the bed comforter. It was too late at night to change rooms as we didn't check in till 10pm. So I let the clerk know at check out. I confirmed that the room was a smoke free room which he said it was, then I informed him about the smoke smell and burns and he just replied I have to check on that. There was no sorry or refund or any bit of remorse for my stay.

Though the room overall seemed clean, the phone was disgusting. I wouldn't touch it. Also, when we checked in I told them I had paid through Hotels.com but he insisted I had to pay. I was double charged: from Hotels.com and from the Econ Lodge and had to fight to get a credit. The Econo Lodge charge was about $12 cheaper.
