Nice hotel sits back from main road.Posted Jun 11, 2016
Hosts were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable which overlooked the long drive to a main road. Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits and small bowl of sweets placed in room. Breakfast was served each morning with a good variety of choice. Nice bar for relaxing in evening A short walk to River Nith. Near railway station to Gretna Green and Carlisle. Dumfries main area is a bit run down, but overall not a bad short break.

Excellent hotelPosted May 2, 2016
The hotel is perfect in every way. The owners are excellent, always ready to chat and terry is full of knowledge about the surrounding areas. The rooms are of a very high standard and the breakfasts are great. It's so clean and as nice on the inside as it is on the outside.

When did work hotels become pleasure? Now!Posted Feb 4, 2016 on Hotels
One of the best business stays ever, and will go back with the other half for a weekend or short holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Thank you

Nice hotel close to all town centre amenitiesPosted Dec 18, 2015
Pros: Private, non-corporate and friendly staff. Interesting decor and fixtures / fittings / curios.
Cons: get the gees cooked spot on at breakfast
Location: Plenty to see and do in the nearby town centre.
Stayed for two nights. Minimum fuss on check in. Staff were polite (owners were away and premises were being watched-over by their family) and non-fussy. Room was both very clean, large and well appointed. Rooms are very airy and need a good warm through prior to occupation (ours was a wee bit cool for the first hour or so). Bed was the size of two postcodes, and on the firm side of firm! Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice and a pleasant, welcoming waitress. Would stay there again. No evening meals were offered which was fine for us as we planned to eat out, but might be an issue for other guests. Staff were happy for a take-out to brought back and eaten on the premises, i.e. in the bar.

Clean, friendly hotel close to town centrePosted Dec 7, 2015
Pros: friendliness and cleanliness. Excellent host.
Cons: nothing as far as I am concerned
Location: close to town centre and DG1 leisure facility; within 200 yards of train station
well greeted by host at reception, facilities and timings fully explained. friendly, large breakfasts. Excellent bar and host volunteered to do taxi job - it was a foul night of weather - for two of our party who were dining out. Host also volunteered to take party members to Glasgow [80 miles] on departure day as local transport was disrupted due again to the severe weather. Would I revisit - definitely.
