Justifiably famous star hotel.Posted Mar 10, 2015 on Hotels
The star hotel was very comfortable and clean with fairly small double room. The service was excellent. The food was very good both in the evening and breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone going to Moffat.

Great Stay At The Famous Star HotelPosted Oct 9, 2014 on Hotels
We booked this hotel as a stop over between Bristol and the north west highlands. Lovely hotel, quirky with great service from the moment we arrived. We had two digs with us and they were made to feel just as welcome ad we were. We ate in the pub for dinner Si the dogs could sit with us, the game soup is a must, big main course portions and knickerbocker glory to finish! We also had breakfast in the bar so again the dogs could sit with us. Deffo going back! Just wish we had mote time to explore Moffat.

Good nights sleep and reasonable food. Had gluten free, just forgot to offer us menu available when we ate in Bar.

Convenient & Comfortable HotelPosted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Location, friendliness of welcome, real ale, flexibility.
Cons: Heat the water a little earlier in the mornings for early showers!
Location: Ideal for 45-50 minute commute to Glasgow, close to the M74 Jct 15.
An ideal location to support our attendance at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow. A Good sized clean family room with a fantastic bay window overlooking the high street. Our hosts were superbly flexible to support our requirement to set off with an early breakfast inside us before our early departure to the games. We will use this hotel again on trips to Scotland!

A friendly, family run hotelPosted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Friendliness and very good service.
Always receive genuinely friendly welcome. Staff really do seem to want to help and serve. Rooms have everything we need for a nightstop - comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, tea/coffee/biscuits, WIFI, TV. Very reasonably priced bar/restaurant meals - I queried bill thinking we'd been undercharged!!!.
