Disappointing room

Posted Aug 11, 2015
First room we were allocated was in top floor, hard bed, stained carpets, very cramped. Were moved to sterling wing, room was bigger with comfier bed but bathroom very tired with smelly shower curtain. OK for one night stay but glad I wasn't there longer. Food in restaurant good.

The DoubleTree in Dunblane was a beautiful hotel, however our room was small and the pool facilities were in need of refurbishment. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic.

Great restaurant with high quality food.

Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: Good location within easy walk of Dunblane.
Cons: Check-in and check-out could be improved as long queues and only a few staff on Reception desks. Queues impeded people being able to pass freely.
Location: Excellent location - Dunblane cathedral and Doune Castle definitely worth a visit.
Very busy hotel. Not much for children to do, apart from the swimming pool.

Great for a short break

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Great for a short break
Cons: As above, room furnishings
Location: Good base for Stirling. Nice to walk around Dunblane.
Staff were excellent, very friendly, cheerful and knowledgable. Very good location, lovely grounds. Room furnishings a bit tired, and could do with refreshing.

Nice hotel, nice location

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: Food in hotel was excellent as were the cocktails!! Very comfortable seating areas to sit and read with a drink or coffee.
Cons: Not a good first impression to arrive at beautiful hotel to be greeted by the smokers at the front entrance.
Location: Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument. Balloch and Loch Lomond. Gleneagles golf course.
Hotel in a lovely location on the edge of town. Short stroll to local golf club and riverside walk and lovely wee restaurant/bar with outdoor seating. A good base for visiting areas around, close to Loch Lomond and Gleneagles and Stirling Castle. A very relaxing stay.

I had a one night stay with my daughter and we had a very relaxing time with all staff very helpful from checking-in to checking-out. The meal in the Nick Nairn restaurant was beautiful and reasonably priced. Would recommend highly and will be back.
