Great experience . Staff were excellent .Posted Nov 21, 2015
Only thing we didn't like was the spa was separate from the hotel , a bit cold to walk back . And the restaurant ran out of steak at dinner !

A pleasant suprise!Posted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff, the decor and the relaxed feel to the place
Cons: The chaning rooms in the leisure centre
Location: The village of Dunblane is beautiful to wander around and the cathedral is amazing.
We weren't quite sure what to expect with this hotel but were very pleasantly suprised. The hotel receptionist was extremely professional and very friendly. There was a very relaxed feel to the place. The decor was wonderful and our room a very good size. The hotel bar is small but this made a for a very good atmosphere in the evening. It was a very busy weekend and the hotel was full but everthing ran smoothly. Can not wait to return :)

5 star only if you want an old manor feelPosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: The outside look of the hotel was grand. The rooms were clean.
Cons: Services, amenities, staff service to guests.
Checked in and was greeted by rather surly staff. Went to room down a warren trail (not to my surprise as old style manor). No hot water in room...was told they are working to fix it. Don't book a double if you are expecting one bed as they will give you twin beds. No real amenities in room for a five star hotel (i.e. no cookies that had been given at every other level of hotel throughout Great Britain). To top it off the free WiFi access for honors members could not be accessed except by the check in desk and then it was spotty. Business center was set up to pay by credit card for access to internet but it too was not working. Dinner in hotel restaurant was fine. Back to room with still no hot water and was told they may have it fixed by morning. Next morning still no hot water but did have tepid water for first few minutes which then again went cold. Breakfast was not served at all...simply a buffet, even for your tea and coffee! Come on, this is supposed to be a five star hotel....where is the service? Went to check out and the bill was not clear as to what were the restaurant charges vs the vouchers purchased vs regular bill. Again staff not supportive in clarifying. I was very glad to leave this one night stay at is "Five-Star" facility, the worst I stayed at of all boardings while in Great Britain and that included several 3 star rated facilities.

carpet in our room was filthy.Posted Sep 13, 2015
Pros: Location, but we will not be staying there again.
Cons: one cannot improve basically poor management.
Location: we only use the hotel after touring Sterling Castle and The Wallace Monutment.
we stayed here 6 years ago when it was being renovated. the food and food service personnel were horrible. the bar and personnel were great. this is the second experience i have had with Hilton group this year which was not to the standard i had expected of Hilton. The Midland, Texas stay at the Hilton Double Tree was horrible and now the Double Tree at Dunblane, Scotland was equally as bad. Again, the Bar staff almost pulled it out but one can only do so much with poor food and good Whiskey.

Great stay but not sure i would rush back.Posted Aug 31, 2015 on Hotels
Very nice hotel. Staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Stayed with my wife and two young kids. Food in restaurant was fantastic it was often difficult to get a table. You need to book a day in advance. Restaurant opens at 6 and i got back one night just after 6 and was told no tables until 8.45. My kids usually eat at 5.30 - 6 and are in bed by 7.30. We opted to eat in the bar lounge which was good but i then had to pay for my youngest (who would have eaten free in the restaurant) and me and my wife got an allowence from the restaurant (where we got three courses) that only just covered 2 in the lounge bar. Breakfast was fantastic and if you asked for something that wasn't out they could ususlly get it. They also did a freshly cooked vegetarian breakfast on request which my wife loved. The spa facilities were adequate but in desperate need of some tlc. There was a scum line round the pool and some of the drains were green instead of white. Sauna and steam room's also in need of a clean and repairs in the sauna. Showres in male changing rooms were not very good and no real way to regulate temp. Changing rooms could also do with a good clean. The room was a little on the cramped side for a family room and the bathroom a little small but it is a very old building. Staff were fantastic, cheerful and really helpful especially when i needed to find the nearest A & E for my youngest.

Great priced overnight.Posted Aug 27, 2015 on Hotels
Cleanliness on the whole good apart from an empty box under the bed and some smears on a seat.Dinner fine and very nice breakfast, friendly staff also.Room comfortable and spacious though frosted windows unusual.Lovely location though walk to Dunblane town from hotel grounds is on a road, no footpath.
