Pleasantly surprised.Posted Sep 4, 2015
Pros: As a widow traveling alone I felt safe and they went out of their way to be helpful.
Cons: A clock in the room would be helpful as the wake-up call from the office didn't ring through and in warmer weather an air conditioner would be needed.
Location: The hotel is easy to reach and the restaurant next door is good, but the local town of Chemanius is past it's prime. Go for outdoor activity.
I was a bit concerned about staying in a non-franchised hotel, but this family run hotel is a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean and pleasant although, all of their renovations are not yet completed. My room had no air conditioner or a clock, but it wasn't necessary. They do not provide breakfast or a guest computer, but there is a great restaurant next door and the son of the owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about helping me set up a future reservation with his personal computer.

I am pleased with the help and concern of the staff. I was ill while I was there, but I was able to rest. I would stay there again.

Friendly staffPosted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: The decor
Location: Close to the road, but you did not hear that in the room. Chemainus was a lovely little place to visit. Close to the ferry to Vancouver.
The motel is basic and what you might expect. The staff went the extra mile and e.g. looked up information about the ferry schedule.

Great StayPosted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Very clean and tidy.
Cons: Stock up cooking and eating supplies for the suites, most was missing so we had to eat out daily(cost us a lot more).
Location: The lake is just down the road, restaurant next door, and a coop convenience store around the corner.
The room (suite) was clean and cosy, it's a family owned motel, the son seems to run it. He is very friendly and professional, top drawer service, thank you. The only issue was not enough cooking and eating supplies for 4 people, everything was pretty much missing or only a couple of each were there. They've done a lot of renovations and it looks great, one of the nicest and cleaness Motels I've ever stayed in.

Good quality for the money paidPosted Jun 27, 2015 on Hotels
A quick trip for a wedding on the island so the hotel was a good choice. Rooms were clean, there is an excellent restaurant right next door and a gas station right on the corner as you turn off the Trans Canada highway. The staff were helpful and the outside environment around the motel was clean and attractive. The room wasn't particularly big, but we didn't need a large room since we were out and about enjoying the wedding and the sites on the island.

Convenient place to stay central to areas we were visiting. Covered the basics and the bed was good and the price was right!

Great central locationPosted May 12, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed at fuller lake motel for a couple rest/time out days while touring the island and visiting family. The location is perfect for a base camp. The rooms are mainly filled with long term road workers which is great. Not a lot of noise. Right on the highway for easy access. If you're looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you, it's quite outdated but clean and has everything you need. If you're like us and just need a couple days rest and want to be in good radius of any store/restaurant/sightseeing it's perfect.
