We had such a great stay at the Fairmont St Andrews. This might be the nicest most beautiful property we have stayed in. It’s absolutely stunning and everyone that works here is incredibly nice and helpful. The gym is amazing and the breakfast buffet had a ton of options (omelette station was fantastic). This is NOT a walkable property but there is a shuttle that runs until 6pm daily which is about 7min drive to town. You DO need to sign up in advance which is a lesson we learned more than once. They can also call you a cab which is super easy. It’s about $14 each way. You will not regret booking this hotel!

We were allowed check in at 4pm and turned up on the dot and they said our room wasn’t ready so to go sit in a lounge area and they would call. This messed up our agenda straight away and we couldn’t gain WiFi access as no room code. I provided them twitch my email and it looked like they had my mobile Number and still no contact t at 5.20pm to say I’d room was ready. Decided to go to reception to ask what was going on and was told They didn’t have my mobile number ? I then said why did you not email me and they apologised and said yes they should have. Made them aware of my I happinesses but nothing was escalated or offered. Device in lounges was slow and we waited 15 mins for our drinks to arrive. Poor experience

The stay was excellent, the only negative was the air conditioning was vey noisy in our room.If we were staying for more than one night it might have been a problem.

Jacuzzi wasn’t working and service across all bars and restaurant very slow. Had couple of cocktails that weren’t made great. Room was lovey and staff all pleasant but your paying premium prices for service which isn’t premium

5 star hotel not at 5 star standards
The grounds are amazing. We ate at the clubhouse and the food and service were mediocre. There was a table of 8 in at the same time as us (no others) and it was mid afternoon. We waited 20min to be served and when we asked to be served, we were asked to wait another 5min. Food was very sub standard and not worth the price at all! The views however, incredible. Unfortunately service inside was similar. BUT reception and concierge were INCREDIBLE!!!! So helpful and went out of their way.

Superb Hotel
Excellent friendly and professional service from all staff. Very eco friendly. Sadly St Andrews Grill very poor quality and not value for monet. £8 for bread quite unacceptable.

Great hotel / slow service
Visit celebrating wife's birthday. We have been numerous times and always have a great time. Service in the main bar was very poor on a Saturday afternoon. 2 bar staff, 4 waiters & a manager - only about 6 tables of customers in the bar. Twice I had to go to the bar to ask for drinks which then took up to 15 minutes for waiting staff to bring the drinks over to our table. £8.50 for a pint of lager is a bit high!!

The concierge service was excellent. Driver Bruce brought us through the town and showed us the 18th hole on the old course on the way to the airport. Will never forget that. Things like that makes us want to go back.

The staff have been very friendly as always. Compared with my experience with this hotel years ago, there are some disappointment during my stay this time, on the first night of arrival, there are a number of items broken/not function properly, such the kettle, safe box and shower head, these should be checked before guests arrival. Some days the room hasn’t been cleaned during the day and we have been told the cleaning has been scheduled in the evening. Some days the cleaning seems to have done in a rush manner, the toiletries are not being refilled unless we request them. The positive thing is all matters are being addressed promptly.

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was disappointing as bacon was overcooked and hard. Supper as ok but not great fish was not totally fresh and steak salad was very poor.

Anniversary weekend
We had another very enjoyable 2 night stay at Fairmont. Very welcoming, comfortable and spotlessly clean all over the hotel. Thankyou to the hotel for our anniversary chocolates. A lovely treat for sure. One area worth commenting on is Kittocks bar. We ordered some drinks on both days here. Unfortunately the bar does not have gin goblet glasses which was really disappointing. Drinking a premium gin at premium prices from far from premium glasses is not what i would expect from fairmont. We also had to request a garnish in gin twice when it was brought to us without -again, not what would be expected. My husband was served his guiness in a bellhaven best glass. Perhaps these are minor comments and meant as feedback only, but these do make all the difference to customers. See you again.

Couples 2 night stay
Entrance foyer impressive, staff very helpful, room good but furniture a bit tired for 5 star rating , bed excellent. Leisure facilities good, Food very good, a bit pricey but cocktails were not good. Not only under par quality but were very over priced. I think the hotel need to look at their drinks pricing and quality and be fair on their guests. I had to send my cocktail back which they did take off the bill so good on them. Shuttle bus to st. Andrews is a nice touch and the driver was excellent. Overall a good trip.
