Dunes Vacations

While it can be a temptation to simply sit back and relax while holidaying in Dunes, remember, the surrounding region's diverse natural and man-made attractions are never more than a day trip away. Saint Genevieve Church and Place Andre Routier which are in and around Astaffort, are well worth visiting. Astaffort, is approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) away from Dunes. For even more variety, visit the Musee des Beaux-Arts and Notre Dame d'Agen can all be found in and around Agen, 11 miles (18 kilometers) from Dunes.

While you are staying in Dunes, why not spend a few hours exploring Montauban. Approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the east, this regional city is where you'll find Montauban Cathedral, Musee Ingres and Stade Sapiac. Place Nationale, Montauban Golf Course and Pont Vieux are also good places to spend time.

For a glimpse into the religious side of Dunes, be sure to make a stop at the region's churches. If you are after things to do inside, you can't beat Midi-Pyrenees' history museums, art galleries and art museums. These are ideal places to learn about the local culture and perhaps find a unique memento.

Have a go at some of the area's great winter attractions. Do as the locals do and have a go at snowboarding here. Skiing is also popular. There are some great exciting adventures waiting for you in the area around Midi-Pyrenees. Try mountain biking or mountain climbing to get your adrenaline pumping.
