Central location. Hotel ?

Posted Jul 10, 2017
We were able to take day trips to Pisa, Siena and. Assisi with minimal effort since train station is walking distance away. Sights in Florence were also walking distance. Plenty of places to eat around hotel including Mercado Centro! Although the hotel staff was great, the Hotel administration is questionable especially when we did not have water for one morning, no showers, or toilets. Although gracious and apologetic no compensation for our discomfort. Disapointed!!

Dear guest, thank you very much for writing a review, we are so happy to know you took advantage of the central position of our hotel to visit easily other beautiful tourist villages. We are very sorry for the inconvenience occurred with water that morning, it did not depend on us, but has been caused by a sudden drop in the pressure of the watercourse of the entire area around us and solved by the municipality technicians in a short time.We really apologize again for this accident, we can understand it caused some discomfort. We hope we will have the opportunity to have you as our guests again, our sincerest regards

All was great except the beds. It is time to change them. Had the worst sleeping time in any hotel ever.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback. We are very happy you find everything great, and, at the same time, we are sorry about your sleeping experience: we have already substituted the mattresses with the new generation ones in almost all the hotel rooms, we could have solved the problem in a few minutes if only we have been informed about your discomfort. We wait to see you soon, our sincerest regards.

Lobby looks like advertisement on expedia.

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Like the fact it was close to train station and easy to maneuver. Easy to find landmarks from hotel.
Cons: The room need updating. The bathroom had mold around tub and shower. If shower head was not position just so massive water leak happen.
Location: Uffizi, Duomo, good restaurant nearby, and other things were walking distance.
When you enter hotel and check-in the area is very beautiful. We had no problem with the front desk staff. We did not eat at hotel even though it was included. We left early for tours.

Great Hotel in Florence

Posted Jun 10, 2017
Pros: Location and Staff
Location: Sightseeing, Duomo, Sculpture of David, Opera Museum, Palazzo Vecchio, Ufizi Gallery, just to name a few.
My wife and I spent three nights in Florence, while touring Italy. The hotel Astoria Firenze was great! It's an old hotel, with great architecture which seemed like a museum itself. Room was clean and bed slept well. It's within easy walking distance to the train station, and all the major sites. The rooftop bar offers a great view of the Duomo and city. Great location! The staff was very nice and helpful. Elevator was kinda small. You'll see when you get there! We would stay there again.

Lovely Florentine Hotel

Posted Jun 7, 2017
Pros: It was well located, had a brilliant roof terrace with spectacular views of the Duomo and Palazzo Veccio.
Cons: Replacement soap would have been helpful when our original one was down to the size of a penny piece!
Location: See above
Stayed there 6 nights in June. Lovely old hotel close to the main sights in Florence. Staff speak very good English and are extremely helpful.

Dear Rob, thank you for your review, we are glad that you’ve enjoyed your stay here, the strategic location makes your stay much easier and the roof top terrace offers a breathtaking view over the city centre and beyond. Sorry about the soap, we will ask the chambermaid to pay more attention about this matter, it’s a pity you did not ask reception staff , we could have provided it at any time. We hope to have back again soon. Best regards

Beautiful hotel in the city center

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Great location close to popular attractions and also the main rail station. The hotel common spaces are absolutely beautiful in a classic style. The room was clean and comfortable. The bath products were excellent quality. The only thing that could have been better is breakfast. A few additional options, maybe a couple savory pastries, would round it out.

We are pleased to gather that your stay met your expectations, our hotel strategically placed in the historical centre seems to be the right place to be to enjoy Florence in full. Our breakfast is served on a buffet basis with a wide range of fresh and dairy products along with seasonal fresh fruit and baked pastries, we are sorry it did not encounter your taste entirely, but thank you for your indication , every suggestion is important to us. We hope to have you back again soon. Best regards

Lovely hotel. Close to the train and to the Duomo

Posted Jun 4, 2017
Pros: The shower, the room spaciousness, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the location.
Cons: Rooftop terrace hospitality. The man up there told us we could only sit 5 min. unless we ordered something. Not good! I am paying to stay there!!!
Location: Great location. Close to the Duomo, San Lorenzo, train station, Santa Maria Novella and shopping.
This hotel is on a great side street. It is right around the corner from Via Panzani one of the few long streets in Florence. It is a five minute walk to the train station. The room was spacious, the shower - FANTASTIC! This hotel actually had the shower placed where we have it placed in the United States vs. most European hotels. We did have extensive trouble with our electronic room key nearly every day for about 4 days. The staff was very gracious to give us new keys each time, but have to admit that it was a bit of a pain. The breakfast was OK. Glad that they had some fresh melon and pineapple to choose from rather than the usual stone fruits which I cannot have. Scrambled eggs were very blah and seemed under cooked. Bacon was definitely under cooked. Not crispy. Wonderful choice of croissants and yogurt. Cakes are dry. This seems to be the case in every hotel in Italy. I know that Europe is much more energy conscious than the United States but the lighting in the hotel room is just definitely not strong enough. Very weak bulbs and dark. It got pretty hot in Florence while we were there and we took to staying in the hotel I was doing watercolor sketching during the off hours in the lovely restaurant area of the hotel. No one bothered me to move. This is a huge plus! A hotel is one's "home away from home". A guest must feel welcome to sit and relax in all the nice public places of the hotel. This is the true essence of hospitality.

Dear Mary Ann, thank you very much for your feedback. Our rooftop terrace offers a marvelous view over the city center, it is easy to understand why our guests love it. During the day, everybody have free access to the terrace for all the time they like, but when the bar service begins, the access to the table implies ordering a drink, as it happens in every bar or restaurant. That’s true that you are paying to sit and relax in all the public places of the hotel, but the access to some area sometimes implies an established time, we are sorry about the misunderstanding. We wait to welcoming you soon, best regards.

Great location in Florence

Posted May 16, 2017
Pros: The location was excellent, and the rooms were very large.
Cons: There could have been better lighting above the wardrobe.
Location: The location was central and near the train station. It was an easy walking distance to the Piazza del Duomo, and Ponte Vecchio.
A great hotel situated in the centre of Florence, providing easy access to the main attractions and the train station. The hotel provided spacious rooms and a grand breakfast room. If you are lucky enough to have a balcony the views are exceptional.

Beautiful building, excellent location.

Posted May 8, 2017
The location cannot be faulted, you are a 5 minute walk from both the Santa Maria Novella as well as the Dome and a 10 minute walk from the imitation of the statue of David. Florence itself is a beautiful city and the people are so friendly. The hotel is beautiful and the views from the 6th floor terrace are amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

Best hotel staff ever

Posted May 4, 2017
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, location and style.
Cons: Tea, coffee and small kettle in the room.
Location: Station 5mins away. Duomo 4mins away. It's on a quiet street just off a main street so close to everything but not too noisy.
The staff are by far the biggest reason I recommend this hotel - very friendly and very helpful. They helped us out with transport queries, gave us hot water whenever we asked for it, attentive barman, great linguists, I could go on! The room was clean and good size with comfortable beds. Great style of furniture in the lobby and bar. Great location 5mins walk from station and close to some nice restaurants. If I go back to Florence I will stay there again.
