If you love big, old Grand Hotels, you will like this one. Rooms are larger than many European hotels, very clean and quiet. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Location is great for all historical sites and train station is close.

Lovely hotel, great location.... bad service!!

Posted Sep 4, 2017
Pros: Location, atmosphere, view
Cons: Staff attitude and customer service
Location: Central location, river, bridges, the squares, the market
The hotel has a great location and a greeat feel. However, the service we experienced within the firast few hours of arrival was some of the worst Ive had Firstly, be warned of the "fines" for parking outside to drop off your baggage. The hotel billed me for overnight parking when I had no overnight parking and "argued" with me when I asked for the charge to be removed. In fact, the receptionist was so adamant that I was wrong that she was still raising her voice to me after her manager had agreed to remove the charge. Totally unacceptable behaviour. In summary, this great hotel was let down by bad communication, bad attitude and overall bad service. Such a pity for a great hotel

Dear Guest, it is a pity that an overall good experience was spoilt by some miscommunication from our side. It is also a pity that you do not give us any detail on your reservation because this way it is not possible for us to take any action with any of our staff. However thank you so much for your feedback. Best Regards

Great historic hotel

Posted Aug 31, 2017
Pros: spacious room, great buffet breakfast, easy to valet the car, proximity to sites.
Cons: a little noisy (traffic on the street) - maybe because we were on the 1st floor, but not terrible.
Location: close to Duomo, San Lorenzo market, not too far from Ponte Vecchio.
Great time for my family of 4. We had a large family room that fit all 4 of us. Hotel was clean, neat and staff was super friendly. Close to all there is to see and do in Florence.

Nice hotel close to historic district

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Cons: The staff at the rooftop bar could be a little more welcoming. We went to have a cocktail at 11:30pm and staff seemed more concerned with closing up
Great hotel with old world charm very close to the main railway station of Florence. Most historic sites were within a short walk. Breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Baglioni again.

Great hotel in the centre

Posted Aug 19, 2017
Had a great stay and the location was perfect, not too far from the city centre. Far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle of main tourist routes. Great access to train station. We were given a room on the top floor with a fantastic view of the city skyline.

Great terrace and restaurant view!

Posted Aug 12, 2017
Pros: Rooftop terrace restaurant and terrace with the best view of the city!
Cons: Very busy breakfast service where we waited ten mins to get a table and ended up sitting around the corner in the bar area. Poor view from our room
Location: Sight-seeing, sight-seeing, sight-seeing! Florence has A LOT to offer and it is all very nearby!
We stayed here for 3 nights and we had a lovely time. The absolute selling point of this hotel is the view from the rooftop terrace restaurant. There is also a lovely terrace the restaurant looks down upon which has a gorgeous view of the main attractions of the city including the duomo. The breakfast restaurant indoors next to the terrace also has the same lovely view. Dinner in the rooftop restaurant was gorgeous with lovely food and wine! The only downsides were a very busy breakfast service where we waited ten mins to get a table and ended up sitting around the corner in the bar area, and it took a while to order coffee as the only coffee available on the buffet was from a pot which many people were using at once. We also paid for a delux room which was lovely as it had a reception/sitting area with the bathroom and bedroom coming off of it, however we had the worst view into a tiny little courtyard and were facing another wall across. I am not sure what the views are like from the other rooms but the front of the hotel faces onto a plain view towards the train station (currently in August 2017 there is a semi-building site right in front of the hotel). All in all I would recommend this hotel purely for the restaurant, terrace and views- don't hold out for a good view from your room though, but if you are sight-seeing like we were, we hardly spent time in the room anyway.

The hotel is in a prime location. It's across the street from the SMN train station, two blocks form the central market and down the street from the Duomo. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I were in town celebrating our honeymoon and they upgraded our room for free. Our only complaint is the 22 euro per day additional charge for a second person (my wife). The base price should include two people.
