Best stay ever! Every morning we woke in this gorgeous hotel, rich with historic detail and character, thankful that we found it. We would throw open the shutters and look to the narrow stone street below where horse and carriages clip-clopped by and people milled in and out of trattorias and shops. The family who own and operate this hotel were warm, welcoming and treated us like an extension of their own. When I'd pop down to the desk to ask if I could borrow wine glasses from the lounge to take up to the rooftop terrace I was invariably told "Of course, this is your house!" Also, dining recommendations, all within a short walk, were excellent. The location is perfect for accessing all the sites, and the Arno river is just one street away--you can see it--and a bell tower--from the rooftop terrace. A note--the lift for those with luggage or mobility issues is accessible only after walking up two short flights of stairs. Absolutely loved our stay here, and if we return to Florence would not consider staying anywhere else.
