The concept of old is very subjective as our hotel is located in a historic tower from the 1200s next to the Cathedral of Florence and the furnishings respect Florentine art (handmade wooden furniture and Tuscan terracotta flooring). It is clear that you have given a negative rating to the staff as we kindly asked you not to occupy the tables in the room for hours with food brought from outside but we still allowed you to do so.We are very sorry for the negative score and would like to point out that the reception is available to resolve any problem.Best regards,Andrea

The location was the best. Our room was very clean and small;) but it had everything we needed. It was noisy at times but nothing we could not handle except every morning at 7 we had the basilica bells waking us up.

Great location but due to being right next to duomo it was very noisy at night. The bed wasn’t too comfortable but overall great stay for the price and the staff was very professional and helpful. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe at this hotel.

At first I was skeptic about this hotel because I was arriving after front desk check in service hours but they were able to answer all of my questions for check in via email. Not to mention that during my stay I also was able to get assistance via whatsapp. I could easily say that the service was 10/10 and the location as well, I could see the dome from my window and everything was walking distance. Very satisfied with my stay.

We go to Florence 2-3 times a year. This trip was the best of the best. Of everywhere we have stayed, Hotel Costantini was the absolute best ! Andres and Julie were phenomenal !! Always greeted when you come and go , informative and the most friendly host. I can’t imagine we would ever stay anywhere else now. Thank you all , you made our trip fantastic

About ten steps from the from the hotel and you are on the plaza with the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. For location it really can't be beat. Despite that it really is a rather budget friendly option. But don't expect luxury.

Nice hotel, good staff. They arranged for an early check-in for us which was nice. Rooms are nice and clean. The hotel is quiet even though it is on the road near the busy Duomo sqaure. Location is great, walkable to Duomo and other attractions. You can see top the Duomo tower and cathedral from the room. Front desk is available during day. Many hotels don't have front desk and no staff on site.

Two star definitely!!!!!
The location is very good but the noise from being in the center of Florence is terrible, the bars around you and people shouting, the windows do not have any noise insulation. We would rather lose what we paid and go to another hotel. If you are young and looking for that adventure, you are definitely in the ideal hotel, not recommended for families or if you are looking to spend the entire night after a tired day from walking a lot.

Dear Francesco, Thank you for reviewing our hotel and for appreciating the location. I want to respond immediately to your negative review in which you complain about the noise. First of all you left the hotel 3 hours after your check in (around 5pm) without giving any explanation so you didn't spend the night in the hotel (As soon as you entered the room you immediately complained saying that a double room with two single beds should have two double beds ). Another point, you have been assigned two rooms, one internal which has no noise and one external which overlooks a secondary road where it is normal for at 4pm in the heart of life in the center of Florence there is noise from activities and of the bells of the Cathedral. As a hotel we will improve the soundproofing of the rooms as much as possibleGenerally I invite everyone to come back, but I advise you to stay away from the historic centers and take a hotel on the outskirts to have total silence Best RegardsAndrea

The hotel was a perfect Italian experience. We were located downtown at the Duomo, within walking distance of museums, dining, shopping, and the train station. The hotel staff was very accommodating, could not have asked for a better first-time experience to Florence!

The hotel was within steps of the Duomo, shopping, restaurants, etc. You can't beat it for location. It was, however, a bit noisy due to loud visitors on the street below so it would not be ideal for a person who is bothered by noise. The hotel is actually on the second or third floor of a very modest and a bit tired building which was unexpected. The staff, however, were so very pleasant and accommodating. We had a twin bedroom which was quite small but very clean and had the normal amenities including a mini fridge. I would happily stay at the hotel again when in Florence but noise is not a bother to me.

Questionable
Pictures on the web site inflated the actual hotel room we had. Very small and interior. A difficult check in because the hotel in located on the second floor of a building and has very few directions for entry.

It’s important to remember that star numbers are not the same as “star ratings” - this is a 2 star hotel meaning it has few amenities. That doesn’t meant it’s bad place just that your expectations need to be in line with the type of stay … I am very used to 4 and even 5 star hotels but this place was perfect for my Florence trip. It was clean, simple; safe (note there is no front desk after like 7pm ish) and amazing location. If you want a lot of fluffy towels or a room that is cute for Instagram this ain’t it. But honestly, do you really need those things when you’re in Florence? You should be out and about! I would stay here again.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Extremely helpful and accommodating. The hotel is located right next to the Duomo, Baptistry, Bell Tower and one of the top shopping streets in Florence. They offered bottled water for only €1 and we loved the coffee machine (these small things go a long way). The only knock that we had (coming from Texas) is the Air Conditioner. Pretty much didn’t help cool the room. So, we slept with the window open for both nights we were there. Granted it was cool and provided a slight breeze but the lights and noise from the street made sleeping extremely tough. We survived to say the least. I’d absolutely stay here again, just in a month where it’s guaranteed to be cooler and the AC wouldn’t be needed.

Right outside the Duomo it is easy to walk around to all the sights as you are right in the heart of all the action. The staff is very nice. I would say if you are a light sleeper than you may have trouble here. You can hear other people in rooms next door and especially when they are using the blow dryer. I would stay here again.

Exceptional location for walking the inner core of Florence. Staff very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room I stayed in was simple but exactly met my needs. Lots of shops right out the door for shopping, cafes, and gelato. It was noisy a bit noisy at night as I stayed over a weekend and the hotel overlooks a fairly busy pedestrian route for revelers. Room temperature was good even on hot days.

Dear TracyThank you for your review, even though you wrote it negative. It doesn't seem fair to us that you write things that are not true, you booked two nights in our hotel a few weeks before check-in with a non-refundable formula and you demand a refund on a reservation that could not be refunded immediately after booking in April. In the end you showed up anyway, you wrote this review out of pure spite as you didn't tell us anything negative at reception except that you had to leave earlier to go to Rome. Writing a negative review of a hotel because you demanded a refund after booking (due to a change of plans) does not entitle you to write lies about a hotel review. Best regards

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. Number one. The location is perfect. It is literally a half block from the cathedral. Many restaurants and bars immediately around the hotel. Number two. The staff was very nice. As a non-Italian speaker I was a little worried about this and everybody appreciated. My lame attempts to say good morning and thank you in Italian. They offered me baggage storage when I checked out. We’re available to answer any questions, and I always had a smile on their faces. Number three. As I stayed at the hotel for almost a week, I really noticed how they thoroughly clean rooms as people checked out. My room was spotless. Lastly, my room was extremely quiet.
