This hotel was in an excellent location.

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: The owners, the location, the historic feel.
Location: The location is central. U can walk 15 minutes south, North, west or east & U will find all u want to see or do, the history, restaurants, shoppiing
We were happy to have our last week in Italy, in such a charming hotel. Although the rooms were small, we had a beautiful, historic sitting area where we could sit in the evenings, & meet other guests, &'discuss our day. Doreen & her husband were amazing & helpful in suggesting different things to do, staying here was not business as usual, but a feeling of being at home. The central location was a plus as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. There was no shortage of great restaurants within a 5 10 min walk. Our favorite restaurant was Dantes across the bridge. High end restaurant, with reasonable prices. The history is the building is 500 years old, and has been a hotel for 120. We loved our stay here.

The hotel is very well located and close to everything. The single room is basic and the private bathroom is outside of the room but you have what you need. My main concern was the noise. There's a parking in the street and you hear cars, people talking all the time. I had the feeling that I was sleeping in the street. We also hear people in the other rooms so bring your ear plugs if you have sleeping issues. Other than that, the owner is very nice and helpful if you need anything.

Lovely old hotel in the heart of Florence

Posted Jul 11, 2017
Pros: Quaint, wonderful hostess, fantastic location
Cons: I like it the was it is.
Location: Shopping so close by, Ponte Vecchio (have a drink while watching the sunset), so many little restaurants. Hostess can recommend good restaurants.
Doreen the hostess is lovely and extremely helpful. It is a charming very old building with a quirky elevator. Lovely fresco in the living area. Otherwise rooms and furnishings are simple but comfortable. We walked to everything, restaurants, shops, the Duomo and Uffizi. I would definitely stay there again.

Possibly unique hotel in central Florence

Posted May 20, 2017
Location: Huge number of cafes and restaurants nearby. Ask Doreen or Carmelo for recommendations. Try Osteria delle Belle Donne. I went there three times.
On the second floor of an old palazzo, the Scoti is amazing. It defies a simple description because it's a one star hotel with five star ambience in a five star area of central Florence. My room was enormous. The frescoes in the first common room are real. The sculptured bust above the entrance door is by Gianbologna. And Doreen and Carmelo are wonderfully warm and helpful hosts. This was a real find.

unfortunately the bathroom was separate from the room, which I don't remember being mentioned in the description. However, I am aware that that's not the case for all the rooms. That lack of a TV in each room is a bit annoying, but it was mentioned in the description, so there's not much to complain about. The hotel is pretty much ideally situated and no more than 15-20 minutes walk from most of the major attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us and for speaking so well about our helpfulness and our central location. We supply precise information regarding the facilities we offer and you reserved a "single room with private external bathroom for exclusive use", the most conveniently priced single room in the most elegant area of the city centre. We explained that an upgrade with en suite bathroom was available at just a few extra Euro. We hope you can return to stay with us again, so please do reserve a "room with private en suite bathroom" next time.

charming spot steeped in history

Posted Mar 3, 2017 on Hotels
Loved this hotel and the women that run it! Felt like home away from home, but also allowed as much privacy as required. Very clean rooms; the first was a bit too small but a larger room was available and there was not a tremendous price difference. Stay in the larger room was grand! Very spacious for the two of us. The bed was very large and very comfortable. We were there in February, and the room was always warm and comfortable. Everything in the bathroom was functioning well (plenty of hot water, etc,) The daylight streaming through the large window was a true bonus. The murals and the history of the building were fascinating, and the teeny tiny elevator was very handy and too cute. Florence is a very walk-able city and this is in the heart of it. We will stay here again if/when we return.

fake respect and fake rate

Posted Feb 26, 2017 on Hotels
frist the room is not clean inside the room smells very bad . second the lady owner of the hotel have really fake respect and she complaint from me in very bad way why I'm ringing the door and she didn't even a little bit think I don't have keys . third and worst of it when ever I left the hotel she came to my room and check everything it's so rude so bad, and one another thing please consider this a bathroom outside the room is not private. I don't want any thing but please put the right rate on the hotels. I always use from the hotels.com and I always trust it but this time I'm completely surprised .

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you were not happy with your choice of hotel, among 1600 accomodation possibilities in Florence. We have a twenty-one year history of extreme courtesy, even with guests who are rude and who do not respect the rules. Smoking is not allowed in our hotel. We were very disappointed that you smoked in your room, filling the room and corridor with smoke and causing complaints from other guests. We were forced to enter your room while you were out to open the window. We supply precise information regarding the facilities we offer and you reserved a "single room with private external bathroom for exclusive use", the most conveniently priced single room on a Saturday night in the most elegant area of the city centre. An upgrade with en suite bathroom was available at just a few extra Euro, but you did not request one. We have excellent reviews for cleanliness and helpfulness. We had the impression that a female hotel owner was a problem. You were checked-in very promptly and you received a set of keys when you returned in the afternoon, after dropping off your luggage in the morning. Early morning check-in is only possible when the room has already been prepared.
