Great location, but overpriced.

Posted Jul 14, 2017
Pros: The staff was quite friendly, and the rooms have been recently renovated.
Cons: Parking rates, cancellation policy, coffee makers, and TV size.
Location: Tons. Google places!
This was the third and final visit here. First visit was ok, second visit was for recreating an awesome weekend with the surrounding areas, third visit was a mistake. My most recent, and third visit, was regrettable based on past experience. -Parking is valet and 50 bucks a day. If you need to run to your car real quick, it's not easy. -There are multiple elevators to different floors and you need a keycard which is annoying. -Lobby is quite small. -Bathroom had quite an odd sewer like smell. -Ice is on like every third floor. -Rooftop bar is only open until 10pm. A shame as it's quite a nice view. -The TVs in the rooms are small compared to other hotels I've stayed at.

I am terribly sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your most recent stay. You are correct that our secure, 24 hour parking is valet and our rate is competitively priced for our central location, just as it always has. A valid keycard is required to access guest floors as the security of our guests and staff are imperative. For guests' convenience, the hotel does have multiple elevators that access every floor in the building. We do apologize that you were unsatisfied with the size of the lobby and the TVs. It is never our intention for a guest to leave dissatisfied with their stay and we hope you will be able to give us another chance.

Dirty towels and cigarette smell

Posted Jul 12, 2017
I booked this hotel last minute on Expedia because of the price. The staff was friendly and my check in was easy. I had reserved a king bed but they asked if I would mind two doubles, which was fine. The room was very big at first I was happy but then I started seeing problems. First the room smelled like cigarettes and gave me a headache, even though they said it was a smoke free place. The window was so small I couldn't even get fresh air. What really was disappointing for me was when I took a shower and picked up the robe that was in the bathroom and there was black make up stains on the sleeves! The towel was in plastic and made me think does the staff even clean anything ? The towels, the sheets ? There was a mini kitchen too, and the dishes there weren't very clean either. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay. Dirty towels! Worst of all for me the smell of cigarettes in the room!

The hotel staff was very kind and they told us they upgraded our room when we checked in which was very generous of them. We also got a free bottle of wine (deal that came with the booking at the time).

Great place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently located and in a safe area. Many good restaurants located within walking distance. The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are a little dated but not run down or anything. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Enforce your own rules

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Good price for DC. Comfortable.
Location: Location was good. If you are a walker, the sights of Washington are within walking distance. Lots of good restaurants close by. Close to the Metro.
It was late and the room next door was very noisy and the hotel has notices about being quiet and respectful to other guests posted in the elevator. I phoned the desk to tell them about my noisy neighbor. The person at the desk said the manager will talk to them. After another half hour of listening to my neighbor, I phoned the room directly and told them to shut the f up. I believe the manager never did anything about their own house policy. Disappointing. Otherwise the hotel was nice.

CENTRAL LOCATION TO A LOT OF D.C. SITES.

Posted Jul 6, 2017
Pros: CENTRAL LOCATION, STAFF.
Cons: CLEAN THE ROOMS BETTER.
Location: TEN MINUTE WALK TO THE WHITE HOUSE. CLOSE TO METRO. GOOD RESTAURANTS FAIRLY CLOSE.
THE STAFF WAS HELPFUL AND PLEASANT, RESPONDING QUICKLY TO ANY COMPLAINTS. THE LOCATION WAS CONVENIENT TO MANY OF THE SITES. ONE PECULIARITY WAS THAT THE STAFF DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE UP YOUR ROOM EVERY DAY. YOU HAD TO PUT THE SIGN ON THE DOOR INDICATING YOU WANTED YOUR ROOM MADE UP. I HAD NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE AND IT CAUSED A PROBLEM. IMAGINE BEING OUT ALL DAY SIGHT SEEING AND COMING BACK TO A ROOM THAT HAS NOT BEEN MADE UP! THE ROOM COULD HAVE USED A BETTER CLEANING. THERE WAS A LOT OF DUST UNDER THE T.V. STAND AND THE BED.
