Bittersweet

Great stay however rooms are dated and need to be renovated. The resort is well maintained however general service levels are not on par with the ambience of the place.

Nice setting, staff are not experienced

It's a beautiful place. My problems were as follows. Our room had a leak, housekeeping saw it and said they would have maintenance come fix it. It never happend so we complained in the evening and moved, that's an inconvenience. Then in the new room the shower leaked onto the floor profusely, some of the light bulbs are burnt and the counter tops in both units were sticky. Seems to me there is little or no supervision and checking. Quite a shame.

Not a 5 star experience

For a five star hotel, this experience was underwhelming - the facilities are starting to age and it doesn't look like maintenance and upkeep is receiving the budget or attention it deserves: as examples, the dining room carpet is stained, the pebble tiling in the pool is falling apart, the kids club facilities are worn and sparse, even the bedroom looked tired. The in room value proposition also does not match the star-rating and price point - as an example, we stayed in a junior suite at a hefty rate per night, and yet there were no decent coffee options in the room - only instant coffee was on offer. When asking about this we were informed that more decent coffee machines were only offered as part of even more expensive suites. The setting is beautiful and the staff very friendly and eager to help, but something is amiss overall. Sadly, we will not be back.

Nice hotel, with plenty on site facilities.

The location of the hotel is excellent, as it is close to the airport and transfers can be arranged at a good price. They also have a car that can take you to nearby towns etc. The beach cannot be used, but there are plenty pools, which were not busy when we visited. Suggest going for a la carte food choices where possible, and avoid the buffets - the food is better quality than on the buffets (breakfast and dinner). Good for couples or families.

Impressions of Fairmount Zimbali Coastal

Pros: The space and the quietness and the design of the hotel and the surrounding villas the swimming pools and the beach
Cons: Yes the containers for the hot food need to be warm the food was stone cold at 8 am for breakfast at the Coral tree restaurant
Location: Sibaya Casino Ballito
Efficient friendly check in the porter very factual about all the room facilities amazing series of pools and great views of the Indian Ocean Superb massage at the Spa and great service from the team at the café near the swimming pool they really went that extra mile Good variety of food at breakfast In all it was a relaxing break
