Nice country hotelPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: The ensuite shower over the bath. Not good really
Location: Went for personal reasons so no comment
Rooms good. Maybe a bit tired but great value for money. Fresh cooked breakfast which was good but tinned mushrooms a no no. Would go again though.

2 night stay to visit friends and see the area.Posted Sep 13, 2015
Pros: Good position for our visit to friends and good value for B&B Nicely decorated in the bar and restaurant area.
Cons: Bedroom decor a little tired and a bit of a strange mix of furniture - painted badly!! Mould around Bath edging.
Location: Nice quiet village but only a few minutes drive to get into Darlington. Close to Teeside Airport and not far to get to Stockton- on-Tees.
Friendly staff at our arrival. Disappointed when we saw our room as it was 2 beds pushed together and duvet only just reached the edges of the bed. No hangers in the wardrobe but they were quickly brought after being told. No milks to make tea either, this too was rectified when they were told!! I told the lady from reception about the bed, as we had asked for a double when we booked, she said sorry she would have moved us but fully booked!! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very good, choice of fruit juice, fruit salad, cereals etc. if you wanted it, we had cooked breakfast which was very nice. Didn't mind room being at back as it was quiet.

Realy nice little hotel in a quiet location. (I didn't realise the airport was next door untill the next day). Food is excellent, would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Staff very friendly, food good, room bad. Bed creaky and mattress flat, bathroom dingy and rough.

lugnt och trevligt på genomresaPosted Jul 26, 2015 on Hotels
väldigt trevligt och lugnt närområde. Stillsamt på hotellet. Bra för lugn övernattning. Fyra stjärnor snarare än tre..

Room No 7 needs some TLCPosted Jul 10, 2015 on Hotels
Room allocated (room 7) was in need of a makeover. Carpet filthy, single bed mattress springs gone that lead to an uncomfortable nights sleep. Bathroom shower terrible with no pressure and leaked from Bath. Tile grout dirty and cracked tiles. Only there for one night so put up with it. However, Evening meal fine and breakfast good. If to stay again would ask for another room other than no 7.

Excellent friendly staffPosted Jul 9, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed here on business for 2 nights. The room was of a good size but the bathroom could do with up dating. The breakfast was excellent & the food in the bar was also very good, especially the burger ! What makes this hotel is the excellent staff.

Lovely location.Posted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: Location was lovely. The ensuite was enormous, about half the size of the bedroom!
Cons: The room we stayed in downstairs was a bit tight, meaning that there was only one bedside table and no bedside lamps. Not sure which entrance to use.
Location: Beautiful outlook. Visited relatives so didn't explore the area.
Stayed overnight en route to Scotland. Easy drive along coast to Edinburgh. Visited relatives so did not eat in the hotel. Friendly locals asked if we wanted to join in the regular quiz! Parking was a little tight immediately in front of the entrance.
