Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost.

Its in the middle of a motorway so for those without a car, you are limited to KFC, McDonalds or sandwiches from the petrol stations.

Friendly helpful and jolly staff , room was a little cold, food was good and restaurant/ bar was comfortable and but whoever either designed or chose the soap dispensers in the shower got it wrong. They are too high and in the wrong place

Room 203 was freezing cold and the floorboards outside the door were very creaky. Due to the location of the room (beside the stairwell), a lot of people passed the room.

Parking fine for parking in the car park!
Had a weekend stay for daughters competition 2 nights. Breakfast was very good clean pleasant hotel but was spoiled when I recieved £100 fine for parking in the Hotels car park. Was told on arrival to enter my reg to avoid fine but not that I had to re enter each day of stay to avoid fine he should of been clear that I needed to enter each morning feel robbed!

Generally good, dodgy aircon
Friendly helpful staff, generally ok, floor was very creaky in my room and the aircon didnt work fully but it was still a comfortable stay

Our Bank Holiday stay at the Holiday Inn
From the minute we entered the Holiday Inn the staff were friendly and helpful.The evening dinner was lovely and the breakfast was fantastic Overall we had a pleasant stay, and would definitely stay again

Very good value for money other than expensive dinner options. You have more reasonable options and prices before 6 pm. Breakfast was very good, however. Room was clean and large. We requested a room change to the quiet side of the hotel (overlooking the car park) and were given one quickly. Reception service was really good. Would come again. .

Disappointing tired hotel staff not particularly helpful room clean but damage to door. generally supposed to have been refurbished cheap job done needs a proper refurbishment. breakfast was good though

Family trip August 2023.
Excellent central location for our touring in Yorkshire. Easy to find and equally accessible. Family room was ideal for us. No bath which was fine ,but the walk in shower with seat could have done with some grab handles. Only had meal at the inn house restaurant 1st day,which, whilst food was very good,was too expensive for us in comparison to pub style meals half the price a short drive away. Would still look for another Holiday Inn for future travels though.

Holiday Inn Darlington review
Visiting Newcastle from home in the south to attend concert. Ideal location for quick getaway the next day, idealy located on A1, 40 minutes from Newcastle. Clean, friendly and economical. Nice breakfast included in price

Very convenient to the main road, all the staff were extremely helpful, the wifi was absolutely useless in the rooms, this was really disappointing, also no electrical outlets by the bed side for a CPAP machine.

Book in advance for dinner, small gym.
-Good room -Friendly staff -Very small gym, not really worth it if there's more than one person in it -Disappointed that I couldn't get a table for one at 7pm in the restaurant as there was a table of 12 booked for around that time.
