Birthday break
We went for a short break to celebrate my 70th birthday. The staff were wonderful and the room spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was okay, but nothing special for the price. We only ate at the hotel the first evening and ate in Guisborough for the other evening’s because of this. Because the hotel knew it was a special birthday, I thought they might have given us a free drink or something, but they didn’t, oh well.

I have an allergy to Chilli, nearly every dish on the menu contained Chilli in some form or another. Produce for the dishes should be of a high enough quality for the flavour to speak for itself - buck the trend cut out the chilli.

We stayed in a suite for 2 night Excellent facilities. Fridge, Tv, lots of options for tea, coffee (coffee machine provided) fruit/herbal teas and hot chocolate. Very clean, good range of toiletries Great choice for food, from breakfast to evening meal. Staff very attentive. All in all a very nice place to stay

Fantastic experience.
Our stay was tremendous on every level the wow factor of the building and gardens and the fabulous interior, the two restaurants serve top quality food and drink, with a great wine selection. The staff really stand out and so all they can to make your stay something memorable and help with any questions or issue you may have. Also for the quality of the hotel, food, staff etc, it's great value for money To be honest I don't know why I am telling everyone about this, being I want this to be our best kept secret. Can't wait for our next visit.

Late May Bank holiday treat weekend
Our stay was fabulous. Our room, 212, was spacious and exceptionally clean - a credit to the lovely staff. All the food we consumed was excellent and breakfast was very enjoyable. Nice touches like the delivery of fresh milk to rooms made a huge difference to us tea drinkers 😎. All the catering staff were first class, as were the receptionists, whose service and advice on local places to visit, amongst other things, was gratefully received.

The hotel has a charming feeling. The surrounding area is very picturesque and tranquil. Staff are very friendly and nothing is to much they go on and beyond to make sure you are looked after well. The massage and afternoon tea was relaxing and a distraction from ever day life.

Stunning location and a beautiful property. Room was great, albeit a little difficult to locate in the Woodland Wing but we soon worked out an easier route. Breakfast was lovely and good value and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

Comfortable and a great service
I have stayed here many times. In my opinion it is the best hotel for miles around. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only thing lacking is air con in the height of summer.

The only downside was the cleaning - it was half hearted and obvious from sick stained toilets near reception at midday to windows not cleaned properly so streaks showing - bathroom wasnt as clean as it could be - its a stunning hotel in a fabulous position with amazing staff if only i hadn’t noticed what i did
