Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
we booked into this hotel for one night it cost £116 for this we got no breakfast which was extra at £17.45 per person we even had to pay £9 to park our car. the room was dated but comfortable. there was what i can only describe as a aircon unit outside of the window which came on and off all night and from about 6am there was a door outside of the room that was heavily used so all we heard was bang bang at 0630 am on a sunday morning i gave up and got up and would i stay here again never i feel like ive been robbed of my money

Dear Robert, Thank you for your email, I appreciate your concerns regarding your stay with us, and again I am sorry we did not live up to your expectations. In regards to the car park, the hotel does not own this, this is owned by Parking eye therefore we are unable to offer complimentary car parking to all our valued guests, as with city centre hotels parking is a premium therefore very few hotels are lucky enough to have this luxury to own their own space. We do offer a breakfast inclusive package which can be selected at the time of booking or added at check in, our breakfast does have an extensive range of hot and continental buffet along with items to be cooked to order, which is all inclusive in the price of breakfast. Again I extend my sincere apologies for the noise of the air conditioning noise and the door on the corridor disturbing your weekend away for you, please be assured I have passed your feedback over to our Chief Engineer to investigate and rectify any issues. Kind regards Tom Front Office Manager

Convenient for town

Good modern hotel in convenient location. Friendly staff. Several minor faults with room, and no alarm clock. Expedia charge £ 50 more than hotel charged Expedia. Watch out for this.

Nice hotel, good breakfast

Posted May 17, 2017
Because Durham is a valley city, you have to walk along many steps if you come here by train. It is not recommend if you have large luggage and walk there. But hotel is nice view and easy walk to City center and Durham cathedral. Breakfast is very good, room is clean and bed is comfortable.

Dear somsom, Thank you for your feedback. I am delighted to hear you found the hotel to be of the usual high standard of Radisson Blu. I am very sorry you found it difficult to get to the hotel from the train station, however there are taxi's available at the station that will be able to bring you to the hotel. I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future, Kind regards, Tom Front Office Manager

A short holiday break at the Raddison in Durham

Posted May 13, 2017
Pros: Clean friendly and efficient. Lovely location
Cons: I can't think of anything at this moment in time
Location: The Cathedral area is superb, lots of shops and department stores. Beamish is close by and the coast a short drive away, also the Manor House/gardens
Love the location near the river. The staff on reception and the bar were very helpful and pleasant. Every where was 'spick and span'. Would recommend this hotel with pleasure to friends and family. The amenities were second to none.

Great location

Posted May 11, 2017
Pros: Location was excellent with a beautiful view of the river, we travelled by train the station is a very short taxi ride away
Cons: A handle by the exit out of the bath
Location: Crook Hall and gardens just a couple of minutes walk away lovely cafe as well. 1 hour very informative boat trip is recommended
So much to see and do can't wait for the next visit, weather was perfect.

Good city centre hotel

Posted May 1, 2017
Pros: Convenience, comfortable
Cons: Have enough staff around for the guests
Location: Very central, not far from the station although Durham is very hilly!
Having used SAS Radisson Blu hotels before I knew what to expect. This hotel has a good central location close to some excellent bars. Locals who we told where we were staying said it was the best in Durham One thing that we did experience almost all the time was having to wait for staff - either on reception - there only ever seemed to be one person on duty despite a long queue - or at the bar - I had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to come to the bar to serve me, in fact someone's one reception had to call them! Breakfast was good but very cramped around the buffet. The toaster is right in the middle of the servery and gets crowded holding up those getting a hot breakfast. Coffee is served at the table but you have to make your own tea!
