Loved this Inn!

Posted Nov 18, 2017
Location: shopping, DPAC, Carolina Theatre.
We would highly recommend this Inn hands down. It was a beautiful room and so nicely appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff are outstanding and very attentive. This is a gem in the heart of Durham.

We couldn't understand the positive reviews.

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Hotel was decorated in mismatched, dated furnishings. Bathroom was very outdated and not in a charming or historic way. This was one of four inns we stayed at during a ten day trip and the only disappointing place we stayed. Fruit bowl at breakfast included apples individually wrapped in Saran Wrap. Very odd presentation. Staff was nice but we found place very strange and uncomfortable. Usually recommend places we stay but unfortunately I can't do that here.

We are sorry your stay did not exceed your expectations! We do encourage and appreciate all feedback. The decor of our 1920's historic landmark is period appropriate with a modern twist. The fun of boutique hotels and Inns is to find the one that best appeals to you, since they are all unique and different! Unfortunately, due to health department requirements, fruit with an edible skin has to be wrapped when placed out for our guests consumption. Our cut fruit bowl does provide a much more aesthetically pleasing look! We strive for the best in Southern warmth, comfort and hospitality!

Easy Luxury

Posted Nov 8, 2017
A charming and elegant historic hotel offering comfort, expected perks, and much appreciated quiet. Located in a very nice older residential neighborhood, you are adjoining all that the area offers. Guests have a choice of a well-decorated standard bedroom with additional seating, or a full suite. Bathrooms are clean, cheerful, and updated, but the bathtub and shower fixtures are not lavish. The full breakfast has many choices and it is delicious. I especially enjoyed the glass of quality port and chocolate with the turn-down service. It came at the perfect time.

College visit

Kings Daughters Inn is beautiful! We were in the Austin room which had a queen bed with a separate living area with a sleeper sofa. The sofa bed was turned down each night and was put away each afternoon. There's a glass of port and chocolate at the bedside for us at night. The bedsheets were soft and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast each morning included made to order eggs, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, bread/English muffin, grits, cereal, fruit, yogurt, granola and scones. There's also pop, water and snacks by the front desk. It is located across from Duke east campus. We would definitely stay there again!

Historic B and B

Posted Jul 28, 2017 on Hotels
This old house has been lovingly restored into a beautiful B and B. The staff is very caring and attentive. The cooked-to-order breakfast was delicious. The living room and porch were very comfortable for reading. The port and chocolate truffle with the evening turn-down service were nice touches.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: The hotel was quiet, great water pressure in the shower, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was delicious, especially the coffee!
Cons: The smoking area in the rear was very loud due to the air handler unit.
We stayed one night in the Kings Daughter Inn. The room was beautiful, I wouldn't change a thing. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything was modern with a classic feel. The decor was perfect throughout the Inn. The staff were all happy to help with anything, and very friendly. I only wish we had more time to stay longer on this trip!
