Nice hotel

Posted Aug 30, 2017
Pros: Pool
Cons: Nothing really
Location: Monde Pizza and a park for children
The hotel staff was terrific. They were so helpful & The shuttle runs at odd times. The 705 bus will take you to the metro station too. 45 to 50 mins to center of town, too much time if you are sight seeing. We took the shuttle to the mall near. We ate the food in the restaurant in the hotel was not good, so we opted for restaurants nearby. Monde Pizza was absolutely delicious which is right up the road less than 1/2 mile. There is a cafe near there the pizza place. We walked 1.7 miles to a restaurant that was on holiday. There is a park near the hotel about 1 mile up the road for young children. Our main reason to stay overnight was because it was closer to the airport. The night cab fee was 50 euros for a 5:30am pick up. To the hotel the cab fee was 30 euros. We are a family of 5:) The hotel contacted the cab service for us and gave us the set fee. I did question it, and I understand there is a "night" fee for cab drives in effect til 8am. The pool area is very tranquil and in the spa area in the basement. It is very pretty. Children 10 & under are not permitted. The pool and the closeness to the airport were the main draws to this hotel. Your power turns off when you leave your room. Your room key controls the electricity, so no charging your phone when you leave the room. During the night our electricity went out, so we had to fix the key. Overall, the people were very lovely.

Excellent for overnight stay, accommodating staff

Posted Aug 19, 2017
Pros: Service, staff, indoor pool, cleanliness.
We stayed at this place overnight because of a flight delay. The staff were great, helpful, friendly, and even opened the kitchen for us when it was closed. The hotel is clean. It has a nice indoor pool, a nice gift shop for last minute purchases and free parking. Service is excellent; which isn't always true in Rome.

A homely and comfortable stay in Rome

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: The friendly and helpful nature of the reception staff, the ambiance and the neatness.
My visit to Rome was a mixture of academics as well as holiday. I needed a hotel which was close to both the airport as well as the city center ( or at least accessible from both locations). Mercure Roma West met my expectations. Right from the check-in, the friendly and cordial attitude of the reception staff was really commendable. Rooms were perfectly clean and tidy, the linen was neat. Overall it was a comfortable stay. Food was also great, especially the breakfast buffet. The staff were really helpful, from arranging cabs to giving useful suggestions and tips in trying out the various tour options in Rome. The shuttle to and from the subway metro stations as well as the airport was a great help to first time visitors like me. Overall a memorable stay in Rome because of the homely hotel.

You get what you pay for, can't complain

Posted Jul 14, 2017
Pros: Rooms
Cons: Drivers should not use the phone while driving
Location: 24/7 supermarket and corner shop
I spent a week here with my girlfriend, we are both students so the cheap price was attractive to us. Getting to the hotel wasn't great, it's only 20 mins by car but the hotel's shuttle bus is so infrequent we had to wait nearly 3 hours. Returning back you can either pay 40 Euros taxi or get the train which is difficult to get to and takes longer. The room was surprisingly big and the cleaners did a good job everyday. However our double bed was two singles pushed together, the gap in the middle was annoying. The two free bottles of water everyday was nice. The food wasn't great, we only ate their once. We did not pay for the breakfast as it was too expensive and there is a corner shop 2 min walk away where you can buy traditional panini's. There is a 24/7 huge supermarket 2 mile walk away but not much else at all. The best places to eat are in central Rome, we went there every day. The shuttle bus was useful, you just have to book it at reception which was no problem. It drops you off at an underground station where you can by cheap train tickets to get to central Rome. However the drivers were incredibly rude, so rude it is almost comical. They always ignored us when we spoke to them and they never cracked a smile. They also spoke on the phone while they drove. The shuttle bus left without us a few times so we just got the free public bus. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. You want bus no. 705 to get to Eur Fermi. There is only one weight machine in the gym

Excellent Hotel and good value

Posted Jun 30, 2017
Location: Hotel located outside of downtown. We took the car to the train station (Laurentina) for 1.5 Euros we parked all day and took the Metro into the city
This Hotel is located west of downtown Paris going out towards the airport. All services were excellent including Leonardo at the bar who treated us well! - The price offers excellent value for money for a Hotel of this class. Strongly Recommend to others.
