The cottages were easy to find and rated as above.

One disadvantage was washing dishes in a plastic bowl on the dining table or tea-making area. And there was a power blackout for a period at breakfast time. We enjoyed the surrounding gardens.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review or your recent stay in one of our double motel rooms. The plastic bowl you refer to was not for your use as it is a motel room. Staff use the plastic bowl to wash up any dirty cutlery or crockery when servicing your room.each day. We are sorry that there was a power blackout at breakfast time. I would hope that you would be aware that these, although most inconvenient are usually outside of our control.. Perhaps on your next visit we could invite you to book a fully self contained cottage as these have full kitchens, sinks and dishwashers for guest convenience and use. We are pleased that you enjoyed the surrounding cottage gardens. Our gardener, Peter takes considerable pride as do all staff in the presentation of the gardens and grounds.

Not so good

Posted Feb 5, 2017 on Hotels
Disappointing. Well over priced for the room we ended up with. The pictures on the web site give you the impression of a full cottage. The cottage was actually converted into four seperate accomodations. What we got was something no larger than your average highway hotel room for a very inflated price.

Wow , your comments surprise and amaze me! Sounds like your really did not take much care or notice of what you actually booked?. You booked a motel room, paid for a motel room and when you arrived expected a fully self contained cottage. No wonder you were disappointed. Although unfortunate, you do need to accept responsibility for your error. It was YOUR mistake. It is also noted that you omitted to raise any concerns with staff as we have no concerns raised by yourself on file for your booking. Had you discussed your concerns with us we may have been able to assist and offer you a fully self contained cottage. I can assure you that all pictures on the web site are accurate and fully reflective of each room type. Additionally it does sound as if the accommodation booked was outside of your budget. However you would have been aware of this when you booked as full descriptions are provided on the web site along with photographs of the same. I am sorry for your disappointment however you have no one to blame but yourself. Perhaps when booking any property next time online, take a little more care in what you actually book as all properties provide detailed descriptions of their property to assist guests when booking.

Wonderful Stay

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Pros: Clean, central, comfortable, quiet and walking distance to most places.
Cons: WiFi sessions expire quickly, 3h renwal over 6 days is annoying Laundry detergent to be available without purchase for 1 or 2 loads
Location: Close to all shops and a beach, short drive to several attractions like a berry farm, beaches, wineries and more.
The cottage was clean and ready for us, staff was friendly (thanks Beth) and service was prompt.

Dear Annonymous Guest, Thank you for your review of your recent stay. We are pleased that you found your accommodation to your liking and comfortable. We are sorry that you found your complimentary WiFi inconvenient in having to re-log in every 3 hours. I would have thought that 3 hours per sessions was more than adequate to research or book anything that you wished. However had you found this 3 hour option restrictive for your needs you also had the option on the log in page to purchase endless time for your WiFi. Regarding laundry powder, we have to purchase same and therefore pass part of this cost onto our guests. Unfortunately, experience has shown that leaving complimentary laundry powder is not an economic proposition as quite a few guests abuse the process and take all complimentary laundry powder with them when they leave. We are pleased that you found all staff friendly and helpful as all try to excel in proving outstanding customer service.

Not what we envisaged from the website photos

Posted Dec 13, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: It was in a pleasant setting
Cons: The room we had was very tired and dated.
We were a little disappointed as the room was nothing like photos provided on their website. The facilities were dated. The room was quite clean but vanity and shower had bad staining in them. The bed was comfortable except for the springs going clunk when you rolled over and every time your partner moved the whole bed shook.

Terrible motel never go back

Posted Dec 11, 2016 on Wotif
We were late to arrive the motel n found they gave us the very wrong n cheap room. We I went to see the owner. He was very rude n fierce n unprofessional. Wasted us more that an hour to go into the correct room but didn't say any sorry to us. After we left, someone called sid will charge us cleaning fees because we didn't clean the cooktop professional and dry the dishes after we cleaned up the kitchen. This is the first time we heard that n they never mention we must do that on their website n when we checked in. Anyway, very bad expirience!

Hi Joan, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately your memory of the event is different to that of myself and staff. We also note that you did not even attend reception as it was your husband that did. It took 15 to 20 minutes to unravel the mix up while we reissued another room the same as booked. I opened reception well after closing time to assist. This mix up was the result of another guest with the exact same surname as yours and notes were simply mixed up in error. I also called in my off duty receptionist to help address the room mix up. It really was an honest error by a staff member trying to help 2 guests who had not arrived by reception close. Not only did I apologise to your husband but I heard my receptionist apologise several times. Your comment about being rude or unprofessional is not accepted as mentioned earlier you were not even in reception. Once again both my staff and myself sincerely apologise for the mix up of rooms. Certainly this would not have happened had you arrived during reception hours. After your departure it was quite disappointing that you left a filthy and burnt cook top, kitchen utensils needing to be washed as well as a wide range of crockery, cutlery and dishes that had simply been put away wet in the cupboards. These had to be removed, rewashed, dried and put away. There is a wall mounted sign in the kitchen advising of this charge should you choose to leave the kitchen not as you found it. There is additional notice of this in the room compendiums and all guests arriving receive written advice advising of this additional charge should guests choose to leave kitchens not as found.. Both myself and staff apologise again for the room mix up, but also comment that had you arrived during normal hours there would have been no room mix up.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for your review. I note that you did book a motel room and like most motels doors are in close proximity to each other. It is unsual that you find the housemaids cleaning supplies offensive as we do like to service our rooms daily as required by some guests. May I suggest that next time you book a fully self contained cottage with sink and a dish washer for your needs.

Excellent Cottage in Swansea

Posted Aug 5, 2016
Pros: Compact and nice settings / layout.
Cons: Nil
Location: There is a nice bar bakery just 50 meter away from the cottage.
Although we just stayed for 1 night in Swansea Cottages and Motel, we were extremely pleased with the hospitality and spacious, clean and cottage. All of us love the settings in the cottage we stayed.

Hi Jack, Thank you for your recent review of your stay and comments which are so important for other guests contemplating staying. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that the cottage suited and all loved the cottage setting. Yes, it is a pity that you were only able to stay one night as there is so much to see and do in and around the area. Perhaps next visit a few more days could be planned for the East Coast. All staff take great interest and pleasure in warmly welcoming all guests to theproperty. We look forward to your stay.

Nice installation but poor furnitures

For the price I paid I would expect lot more. I paid almost us 300. It needs a renovation

Hi Juan, Thank you for your review. However, I am at a loss as to your comment as all furnishings are new or as new. It is however "Cottage" accommodation and not a new villa. However you would have seen this from the detailed images when you booked. Regarding the price, I note your comment, however it was for the entire exceptionally well equipped Cottage and not just a room and for your family and your 2 night stay was over the peak Easter period when pricing is at it's peak. Compared to other local self contained accommodation the price paid was quite reasonable and certainly very competitively priced. We hope that you enjoyed the comfort of your cottage as well as lovely pristine and historic township of Swansea.

Great location, short stroll to the beach.

Posted Feb 3, 2016
Spent 5 days at Swansea, with sunshine & rain. Had walks on the beach, paid a visit just out of town to Kate's Berry Farm for great gluten free crepes & fresh berries. Took a drive up to the Bay of Fires & Coles Bay, beautiful scenery. When it rained grabbed a coffee & read a book, very relaxing. The locals were so happy for the rain.

Hi Susan, Thanks for your great feedback. Glad that you found much to enjoy despite the rain that we were desperate for. Just after you left the heavens opened up and we had 240mm+ of rain in 24 hours which not only flooded Swansea but cut all access to the town. We actually lost power for over 30 hours. Just as well you missed this severe and very rare tropical storm! Quite rare in Tasmania. Kate's Berry Farm is great for a visit. Next time you may also get a chance to drop into a couple of the wineries to taste not only their wine but great cuisine. Devil's Corner to the north now has fresh seafood, great coffee and desserts as well as a range of stunning wines and a new lookout over the bay. Definitely an opportunity for your next visit along with perhaps a Sea Cruise to Wineglass Bay on Duncan's new boat. Yes the area is quite unique and stunning. Fortunately there are some great local coffee shops to visit as you found out.
