The staff were all lovely; Luc was especially helpful, gave great advice, recommendations, directions. The suite was a really great size. The furniture in the room was starting to look shabby and the two drains in the bathroom were slow. For some reason the TV kept turning off. I would stay there again.

Amazing staff!
Staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. Sandra and Michel went above and beyond. Good location, 15 min walk to centre. Secure parking available. Nice breakfast. Room was a little dark but clean and had everything one required incl hairdryer.

Another treasure to add to the treasures of Ghent
Stayed for 5 days and would have to say it is the friendliest hotel with most helpful staff we have experienced. Large rooms, spotlessly clean and amazing breakfast included in price. Catered for gluten free ( if advised beforehand) with a special plate of rolls and pastries brought to table. Ghent itself is the best treasure (the Ghent Alterpiece 16E tour essential) but also a good base place to stay for train trips to Brugge, Antwerp etc. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Gand Dampoort station and also a 15 minute walk to historic centre. But it’s a nice walk along the canals. Also a bus outside hotel for 2.5 euros if desired ( or reception sell 10 tickets for 17 euros for buses and trams). We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are fit enough to do the walks to station or town or have a car. Don’t miss the little hidden market just a few hundred metres away with wonderful local produce of fruits veges cheeses coffee and cakes. The hotel has cooking facilities in each room if needed

We used the restaurant and the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The lady on reception was extremly helful, showing us the best route to walk to get to the main attractions. Unfortunately, it was a bit too far for me to walk as I use a walking stick. She then shown us where to catch the bus, just round the corner, and wrote on the map the names of the stops. She also told us about the boat trips and that you pay less if you are over 65. The boat trip is well worth going on.

Great reception staff and very welcoming on arrival. The property is only a short walk from the centre and all the main sights of Ghent. The area is quiet and away from nightlife and traffic noise. The room was a good size and we made good use of the small kitchenette. There was a generous variety of buffet style breakfast on offer. We struggled to control the room temperature using the thermostat and were a little overwhelmed by the heat in the room. It would probably be ok for those who like a more cosy temperature but it was too much for us.

What a great place! We wanted somewhere roomy, self catering and convenient. Brilliant, quiet location, easy to walk into the centre. Very good accommodation with a superb breakfast included. We ate in the restaurant on a rainy night and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. No hesitation in recommending this venue.

Great stay
Nice welcome and very informative gentleman on reception. He took the time to tell about the routes into the centre and was very welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Was a little tricky getting the heating right but in all,this was a minor thing.I would return even if the location is a bit further than expected from the centre.

The hotel was renovated in 2011 but it looks great it looks like it was renovated a couple of months ago everything still looks new the bar and the restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious I recommend this hotel and give it the highest rating.

Being an apartment we had lots of space which was great. Not much in the way of towel rack for hand towels or in kitchenette area. Shower rose is positioned on wall at back of bath, but long curve of inside of bath made it very difficult to shower without leaning backwards. Rail needs to be moved more to the side.

Great quiet hotel.
Really nice, comfortable hotel off the town center, so quiet but an easy walk. Also great public transportation - the bus stops less than a block away from the hotel. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in helping me navigate the bus system and provide maps and brochures. Restaurant food was good, with good beer selection.

Modern, great spot. An easy engaging 20 min walk to the center. Super friendly and efficient. Ultra clean and well maintained. Extensive, free breakfast. Great value in every way. We would certainly return. Large French grocery store in mall 10 min walk away with a superb selection of wines, at great prices. (Ie a good champagne on sale at E19! ) Food sold as well. 😁

Excellent hotel, spotless and plenty of room. Breakfast was very good buffet. Quiet area, not much in the immediate vicinity but bars and restaurants within five or so minutes walk.

very roomy, with lounge area. Usefull kitchen area
only thing against the place was a very nice bathroom, but shower head in very poor location. Bath is slopped under shower head and only way to get under water is to lean right back and place 1 leg on side of the bath. Thi is the only thing let the whole place down.

Great hotel in Ghent!
Super spacious and comfortable. Value for money. Minutes walk from central and old town, canal walks and restaurants nearby. The hotels restaurant Dali is worth a visit!

Spacious aparthotel for our short Belgium stay
We stayed at the Castelnou for 3 nights in early Feb 2018. The complex is modern and clean with friendly and helpful reception staff. The mini flat had a lounge area, TV with UK channels, dining table, mini kitchen with 2 stove hob ,sink,fridge,coffee machine and basic crockery and cutlery, including a bottle opener. It has a free safe big enough for iPads etc. The bed was large and comfortable with 2 pillows each extra blankets and plenty of storage. There was a shower over the bath, nice fluffy towels, travel hairdryer and soap dispensers so take your own shampoo etc. There are no local shops near the complex , we managed to get some unpasteurised milk at a small artisan market which also sold cheeses and beers so if you want pasteurised milk, tea bags coffee etc then shop in Ghent before reaching the complex. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Ghent and some restaurants. There is a local train station about a 5 minute walk which can take you into Ghent St. Peter's. Tram tickets can be bought from the complex reception. The bus route passes right outside the complex. The breakfast was the same each day and good choice and quality, beware they do pack it all away promptly at 10am! All in all we really liked the extra space of having a mini flat, it was spotless and modern and we would return.

Even though our tallest colleague tested the placement of the shower when remodeling the rooms, it somehow still didn't go quite as planned.
