We had such an amazing stay at NH Belfort Ghent! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was fantastic. We brought our 2 month old baby and they gave us a bigger room, an executive suite . This made traveling with a baby so much nicer to be able to come back to such a big room and stretch out and decompress. The room itself was so nice and the bed so comfortable. We were greeted with free drinks at check in and they always had refreshments at the end of the day which was nice. We would definitely stay here again if we visit this beautiful city again! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Great location
Hotel is in a great location, the rooms are very spacious with Tea & Coffee in the room. Bed was very comfortable. We had one or two small issues during our stay but reception were very helpful and resolved them efficiently. The staff are all very nice and professional. Would certainly stay again.

Under Construction
Dated property currently under renovation. Our room on the third floor was next to rooms being renovated, very loud noise from renovation works. Rubbish from work left in hallways, wooden doors in hallways made you feel like you were walking into a construction site. Great location however. My room was very dated but clean. Would not stay again until works completed

Terrible experience
We stayed for 1 night, it was an awful experience. We booked through hotels.com redeemed as a free night through hotels.com rewards scheme. And when checking in Clarissa asked how we would like to pay, I told her room was booked through hotels.com & no payment was required after some looking through the booking she said that was fine that city tax of €6 would just need to be paid. My husband used his card & off we went. We were given check in there & then at midday as checking time is at the crazy late time of 4pm I thought we were so lucky until I arrived at the room 222 on second floor. The room decor was very old & dated. The bathroom had black & orange mould all around the shower/bath & a rusty plughole. The shower head had been left pointed out so when I turned on the shower the bathroom was drowned in water. The bed although big was lumpy & not comfortable at all. When I began to blow drying my hair the dust storm that ensued made apparent that the room was very dusty & not vacuumed. I wouldn’t blame the service staff on this as the bathroom layout is impossible to clean. Then to the part which really apset me. Upon checking out the next morning the guy on the desk said you’re up to date & off we went. My husband checked his bank account to see they had charged his card for stay. When I phoned I was told it is refunded. Sorry was not the first word. And the money has still not been refunded. We have contacted bank fraud as card was used without authorisation

Xmas market stay in Ghent
Lovely Hotel in superb location. We booked an XL King Bed room with view, but were disappointed. The room was an odd triangular shape with more than a third of it unusable with no furniture or feature. The decor was a little tired with wall paper peeling under a window and the carpet almost worn through in the main walkway. Otherwise it was clean and very comfortable.

Excellent hotel
Ideal location with it's own car park. Easy to find. In the centre of Gent within the low emission zone. Car park priced for guests at similar level to nearby public car parks. Good sized rooms, nice hotel bar with a good selection of beers. Some really nice bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly and welcoming staff. About 30mins walk from the train station with Bruges and Brussels only a 30min train ride away.

An excellent stay
Lovely large room, and comfortable bed. Staff at reception and in the breakfast room were very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was excellent - wide choice and good quality. Hotel is very centrally situated, so many of the main toruist attractions were very accessible. Would definitely return.

OK for the money
Room was fine, bed was big, supportive. Fridge was loud - but some like that ambient noise thing. Parking under the hotel was super convenient but you pay for the pleasure. Did not sample food. Bar had a big selection of wine.

After we tried three different rooms we asked for a refund so we could leave. Rooms were worn and stained and it was shocking that they expected guests to put up with those conditions. It was a first time experience for us. Have never left a hotel without unpacking before. The staff was pleasant and admitted a renovation was overdue and should happen in the next year.

The major downside to this hotel is the air conditioner. The first room was very warm even after an hour of lowering the temperature to 15C. The front desk was very accommodating and moved us to another room which was initially much cooler,. However throughout the stay the room never got "cold" the weird thing was you could hear the AC running but literally no "air" came from the single vent in the room. The hotel itself is in a great location but i would not recommend staying here in the summer time.

Staff polite but provided no information. Never asked if everything was ok. No info in room regarding amenities, not even prices for minibar. Location however is very good and convenient. Room was clean. Hotel was very worn out. Carpet in room was torn. Beds are very hard and pillows uncomfortable. Bathroom shower had no pressure and toilets did not flush well. Will find alternative next time.

The location of the hotel is great, it is in the heart of all the action but still managed to be quiet. It has onsite parking which is a bonus. The actual hotel and lobby is quite nice, and was a nice touch to have water and a few snacks at the front reception. The rooms however are awful (well ours was). I don't think a single improvement has been made to our room since the 60's. Paint was peeling and everything was just tired and looked like an old folks home, bathroom included. The bed was awful too, the springs were digging into my back and every time either one of us moved the other catapulted into the air. The breakfast is fantastic and highly recommend adding it to your room. They had pretty much everything you could think of and was constantly filled. Like most hotels we have stayed in this trip there is next to no lighting in the room so is like being lit by candle light and no water pressure so difficult to even get soap out of your hair. Besides the room being terrible the location is great so if you don't plan to be in the room much then this a great spot.

Excellent location in center of Ghent. Everything is excellent except for the hotels ventilation system. If you are going during warmer months, you may find it uncomfortable. Hotel provided small table fan that really did not add much.

Needs reno but otherwise great
Location and room size and service were excellent. Room was desperately in need of a reno. Furnishings were shabby and carpet was threadbare and felt really dirty underfoot. But it sounded like maybe reno is under way. Last time I stayed there in 2016 it was beautiful. Orlando at reception was outstanding.

Wonderful hotel and location. The staff gave us detailed directions to the parking ahead of time but when we arrived, one of the roads was closed off. With one-way streets, pedestrian areas and driving restrictions, it was a bit stressful to find an alternative route.

Great hotel! Very modern and the staff are wonderful and attentive. You can walk all around Gent and be back in your hotel in a timely fashion. I would definitely stay here again. I just wished that the hotel bar and restaurant was opened on Sunday night. But besides that, a great stay!

Not the cheapest option in Ghent, but a great hotel with an open atrium terrace in the middle. Parking was easy (if expensive), bar area was lovely and the room contained the largest bed I've ever seen. My only gripe would be the 4PM check in, which seems odd and much later than anywhere else. It also caused a queue at the reception desk.
