Close to tears

Pros: The layout, the room, the bed, the bathroom, the restaurants, the food, the staff, the pool, the ease of parking, proximity to the motorway.
Cons: They could sell Long Island Iced Tea.
Location: Great location, good grounds, quiet, small friendly town nearby.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed not in dozens, but hundreds. My wife and I stayed two nights and were close to tears when we had to leave.

We've stayed at Van Der Valk hotels before and they have always comfortable, clean and good value and this hotel is no exception. In fact it was so good we are staying there again at the end of the week.

Busy hotel in the north west of Belgium

Pros: Although it is a big and rambling hotel, rooms are comfortable and quiet
Cons: Receptionists knowledge of the local area
Location: The hotel's location makes for easy access to this area of Belgium including Gent and Brugge
The hotel appears to be a merger of an old and a new hotel and locally is referred to as the Beveren Hotel. We enjoyed a pleasant stay and the hotel was convenient for visiting Gent and its surrounding areas.

Pros: Spacious and clean.
I stayed here for five nights and had a great time. I cannot comment on the accessibility of this place via public transport, as I had a car. Not a lot of restaurants close by. But the place is nice, clean and spacious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I drove over to Sint Niklaas and found some nice restaurants. I would recommend this place highly.

Pros: A nice layout, with door onto a balcony and a swimming pool for guests to use. Beds are very comfortable and bathroom well appointed.
Cons: A lounge/seating area that is not part of a dining area. To sit where you do not feel obliged to eat or drink.
Location: Shopping and park in Beveren. Not far from Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent.
This hotel is nicely laid out, with rooms facing outwards from a central corridor. There is plenty of parking. It's about a mile to the nearest town centre, which is also very small. The bar and restaurant are locally renowned, with locals visiting just to eat there. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The swimming pool and sauna are great for relaxing after a day visiting. The staff were polite and helpful, fully fluent in English - which is helpful, as the local Dutch is nothing like French or German! Whilst the restaurant and bar are quite expensive, I think the rooms are good value. A regular and punctual bus service stops a few hundred yards from the hotel.

Location: Very convenient for travellers, easy to find by sat nav, quiet.
Very impressed overall, cheap room rates, and we loved the little chalet bungalow - very comfortable! Would stay again but maybe not opt for the rather expensive breakfast.

Although the hotel was quite good value, we didn't think the same about the restaurant. An aperitif was served with a small bottle of water rather than a jug of tap water; so it cost more. We were also charged 1 euro for a carafe of tap water. The set menu was very good but the rest was only average and quite expensive.
