Better hotels available nearby
We were booked for an overnight stay to enable a early morning start in Nottingham. This hotel used to be a favourite but has now become to corporate. £8 to park overnight for one night while a guest of the hotel is just a hidden charge that should be included in the room rate. Reception staff and manager showed appalling service. Redeeming factor was an excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel, but watch out for parking charges
The hotel was nice if a little dated and the pool & spa facilities were OK. However, I only became aware that they charge £8 per day parking when arriving at Reception. When I was considering cancelling my booking because of it Reception waived the parking charge. Other than that my stay was fine. I would stay again if they dropped the parking charge. I personally think it is sly of a hotel to charge parking when it should be in with the price. Its like going to buy a car and the seller charging extra for the wheels!

Nothing majorly wrong with the place
Parking is an issue. £8 per night is just ridiculous when you can park for free on the road outside. The hotel does need a refurb. Given that, the staff are generally great and made us feel welcome. Shout out the manager of the restaurant who was lovely.

Severely dated rooms
The public areas of the hotel are very nice and well presented. the staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel is however massively let down by the severely dated rooms.

poor service and room condition
Hotel looks good from outside, room was dated, handle missing from bath and slipped getting out due to this. Phoned for room service that did not turn up and overcharged for breakfast (they did not bother to check what we had and just charged us for two full english at £12.50 a person). Disappointed because our son goes to university around the corner and we were hoping to regularly use this hotel when we visit him.

Hi Tracey, I am sorry to hear the things you experienced during your stay, we are in the middle of modernising most of our bedrooms but this does not seem to be one of them. The food service is certainly not normal standard for us, we do hope you do stay with us again.

Good but needs more EV charging
All good hotel wise. However picked it for the EV charge point and there was only 1 with decent charge rate, which was occupied for all of my stay. However, the extra 3-pin was useful even if slow and I used that. I would suggest at least providing several 3 PIN points if not further 7kW chargers.

Comfortable stay
Our stay at Best Western was enjoyable, maybe a bit pricey. Renovations were not timely... otherwise it was okay

Very enjoyable time !
The staff were great all helped as much as they could , the two guys in the spa area were friendly and didnt make me feel a nuisance for asking questions,which i have experienced elsewhere. I couldnt praise all the staff enough. The only things could have been better were firstly the breakfast not enough fresh fruit, and it was a very basic cooked breakfast .I have to say the pancake machine is hilarious all that for very little reward ! The decoration towards our room is half way done which the hotel have notices around explaining in process , however to go from a lovely grey stylish part through double doors into a bad 70s corridor was like taking part in a sci fi movie going back in time , we enjoyed it but many wouldnt !! Lol

Stayed before nice rooms but good it overpriced being a celebrity chef image !! But they are charging for car parking which is criminal £16 for two nights Very poor of them ripping people off like that

Ideal location to meet our requirements. Staff were friendly and polite. Had meal in bar area which was excellent. Noise from other bedrooms ie talking and TV could easily be heard. Would have been useful to have book of information re facilities etc in room.

Didn’t have any cutlery with our meal so had to ask and they missed some fries for the children. Food didn’t taste very good, no flavour and lack of salt and pepper offered.

Okay stay, slightly overpriced
Placement excellent for what I needed. Downstairs is great, rooms could do with a bit of TLC. Very pleased dogs are allowed, didnt have one with me but think its good that they are. Was not aware of the charge for parking, very expensive so i just parked off site for the rest of my stay ( was then over charged for parking on check out as they presumed I used thier carpark). The wifi didnt work the two evenings i was there so I had trouble getting work done. The staff werent particularly friendly and looked like i was annoying them by checking on the wifi and asking about a dinner reservation (which i was originally told was not available and then when my friend asked she was able to book). Very thin walls, was able to hear everything from the adjoining rooms and corridor all night.

The public areas of the hotel are excellent and are well presented. The room that we had was a little dated, although it was an executive room. Probably ready for a refurb to bring them to the standards rejected by the public areas. The hotel facilities are excellent

There was no indication that parking would be charged, and £8 was added to our bill on departure without warning. Conditions in the hotel and particularly at breakfast were highly dangerous, as virtually no one, including staff, had any face covering in a barely ventilated space. This included an open buffet bar with exposed bread, croissants and other food over which customers were breathing and talking. As highly vulnerable clients, we are relieved and surprised not to have been infected by the virus.
