Charming. authentic, large rooms, excellent restaurant, most gracious staff. Very reasonable price. Only minus is location a little far from center of city.

This hotel ticked all the boxes for us
We found the staff helpful, the room very comfortable plus included was breakfast, car parking and WiFi. Although not within walking distance of the old town it suited our particular needs.

Good after initial disappointment
Hotel quite good. Arrival confusing as thought closer to old city. Not 1.2 km away, but more than 2km and needed taxi or could have used local b is too. Taxi was 20 zt each time, but only with one recommended by hotel. Others 40+. Also said breakfast not included, but in the end did have it. Quite nice. Staff from all other days helpful and understood more.

Good enough for a short stay
The hotel is nice enough for a short stay. We found the location quite convenient for the Old Town. We have walked a few times and it took us about 25 minutes. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and there are shops near by. I found the male working on reception very helpful and friendly, the ladies weren't as nice. The room was big enough and clean. The bed was comfortable. We found the little fridge quite handy. The WI-fi worked well. We haven't tried the food in the restaurant. I have booked a room with air conditioning (so called higher standard) but found myself in a room with a fan on the ceiling.I went and complain to the receptionist who was trying to convince me the fan was the air conditioning! Obviously I have disagreed but I was only given the air conditioned room the next day. To my surprise there was no kettle in the new room (there was a kettle in the previous room). Cannot quite understand why rooms are not equipped to the same standard. Also the Jacuzzi bath was broken in the hotel spa which was very disappointing.

Good Hotel close to Gdansk
11 of us stopped for 4 nights in 3 twin rooms . We found the hotel to spotlessly clean and the rooms more the adequate . We ate in the Hotel a couple of times and found the food really good and keenly priced . Bar is a little small but we just sat outside which suited us fine

The hotel was very clean. We like everything. The only glitch was that one of the beds was unbalanced in the leg and kept tilting upwards when we shifted. We likes it overall. People spoke English!! Yey!

It isn't located in the central but you can go there by taxi from station and it costs you only less than 3 pounds. A room is clean and staff was nice.

Everything was fine except that two nights we have stayed and those 2 nights at the restaurant where wedding party, so I had a lot of problems with my sleep :(

totally recommend the place for a family stay
The location is quite convenient for us (we've traveled by car). It is 100 mt from Carefour supermarket with cash terminal. The stuff is polite and attentive. The breakfast (buffet) is rich, we have traveled with 2 children and had no problems to feed them in the morning. The room is tidy and clean, the carpet is stainless. Conditioning system is functional. TV with 2 children channels. Free fast-speed WiFi in the room. All sanitary facilities are in a good order and shiny clean too. Towels and shampoo on are dully the shelf. Towels were changed daily, though we did not mind to reuse them. We had 100% prepaid the room here on expedia.com and had no problems on the reception while checking in and out. No charges over the prepaid sum at all. The place is very civilized and the service is of a high quality. I totally recommend the place for a family stay.

Hotel was about 40 minutes walk from old town - uphill on the way back. However, taxis and buses are cheap. The hotel was busy with business clients as well as tourists with a good professional atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the restaurant satisfactory. All in all, a good hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel after visiting relatives, before an early flight from airport. We took a hotel business card from reception to write a phone number down, and the recetionist made us put it back, and reluctantly gave us a small piece of paper, only after infroming them we would go the the room, it seemed very petty. The room was clean and comfortable, and as we were leaving very early the next morning, we did not have any meals at the hotel. We arrived mid afternoon, and due to the traffic, we left the car in the car park, when we returned early evening, the car park was full. We got a taxi into Gdansk, and although only a short distance from airport, due to the traffic it took up about 30 minutes and we left before 7.00 am.

Nice Hotel but could do better.
The Amber Hotel is about a 2km walk from the city center which is all down hill but the reports from this web page states it is very close, it is not. There is a local bus service which you can also use if you wish. The hotel is located in a local housing estate and is very close to a local supermarket which is handy. The Hotel staff were very helpful when asked for information but the safe in the room had no information on how to use it so I asked the receptionist for some information and was given that it is in the book which is is your room, this was incorrect and so the safe was never used. We stayed here from arriving on a Monday morning and left on a Friday afternoon but the Bed Sheets were never changed, the bins were not always emptied and the wash hand basin on arrival had left over tooth paste in it from the previous occupants. The TV had just CNN news and no other English channels, bottled water was given on a daily basis, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The Breakfast in the morning is a very good one if you wish to eat Healthy, do not expect a traditional English breakfast as this is Poland.

I remained in the hotel for 5 nights in a single room. The last night it was sunday nobody cleaned the room. When I came back to the hotel at 11.30pm in the evening afetr a day outside my bed was still undone. I asked to the reception to put it in order, but they said that it was too late.... and they gave me only a couple of towels.

Litt langt unna byen, men det kan man jo leve med. Ellers var det utrolig lytt, ikke varm vann i dusjen og et toalett som ikke virket. Hadde det vært mer enn 1 natt hadde jeg flyttet. A bit far from the city, paper thin walls, no hot water in the shower and a malfunctioning toilet. If it had been for more than one night I would have moved

Prima kamer en het restaurant was goed. Het ontbijt was prima. Het hotel ligt dicht bij een busstation, zodat je makkelijk naar het centrum van Danzig kunt komen. Het personeel was erg behulpzaam.
