I've stayed here before, so the fact that I've come back shows how much I like the Hanza. It's a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. very good fish restaurant and excellent choice at breakfast - although a toast machine would be nice. I had a really super junior suite, which was excellent value. I shall probably visit again.

Perfect Location. Great hotel
Second time in Gdansk, first time at the Hanza - I would highly recommend. Great location. Fabulous breakfast choice, restaurant at night also really good quality. Staff great.

Had made a request for a room with view. Got given the last room apparently. View obstructed by a tree. Had made a request for 1 bed before hand - room had 2 beds with wooden frames. Had to push them together myself. Room small - nowhere near the 30m2. You could hear a loud buzzing in this room throughout. I suspect this was due to the room beeing above the kitchen. Slow/smelly drainage in the bathroom sink. Toilet roll holder coming off the wall. One positive was the breakfast and that you could leave the luggage after check out. For what it was worth the hotel is overpriced.

Excellent accommodations and service. Perfect location on the river but quiet atmosphere and views. Excellent breakfast. Staff was very helpful and patient with American travelers who had a lot of questions!

Great Weekend in Gdansk.

Elegance and Comfort on the River
What a pleasure it was to stay here! The room was modern, elegant, spacious, decorated beatifully, spotless, and accomodated all our needs. The staff was super helpful and always available. We were right in the middle of all the interesting activities and sites. The hotel breakfast and restaurant were impressive, all the food delicious and displayed beautifully!

Although the hotel was clean it is a little dated. We did find a couple of problems, we were allocated a room on the 3rd floor however the elevator was not working throughout our stay leaving us to climb 70 stairs each time we went to our room. One evening we got back to the hotel at 9pm and went to the bar but was told with a grunt that the bar was closed nor could we get a cup of coffee. We were also woken on sunday morning at 08.45 by the cleaner who wanted to clean the room!. After getting that off my chest i must say the room was comfortable including a very easily controllable air conditioning unit.

This was our fifth stay in Hanza hotel and most likely the last one, as the service level has dropped significantly in last couple of years. The buffet breakfast is overpriced and some of the restaurant staff members were just rude with no reason. Cherry on the top? The gentleman looking after the hotel door and lobby was closely watching myself desperately trying to transfer four suitcases from the car to the lift with no intention to help at all. Just watching, staying at some point literally 20 cm from me. On the positive note, this is one of not many hotels recognising VIP status.

Amazing find
This was an amazing hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious & comfortable with a wonderful river view..The complimentary bottle of wine and also the water were a lovely unexpected touch. The breakfast was scrumptious, plentiful and excellent quality with complimentary Freixenet prosecco as a drink option. Excellent location.

Great hotel central for everything. Amazing beds and lovely view. There is work outside but windows are so thick that we didn’t hear it. Would love to come back in the summer when the boats are going up and down The breakfast was lovely

Excellent location but a bit old fashioned.
Hotel has excellent location. Part of the hotel is renovated and modern. The rooms however looks like early 80-ies. This is something that is not reflected in hotel prices. It looks that it is expected that location will compensate for room comfort. As I have visited many of surrounding hotels in Gdansk for this price I would go for another hotel. There is nothing I can complain about the service quality, the staff was nice and friendly. I just think that owners should consider further investment in room renovation to compete with numerous hotels nearby.

Such a shame
Hotel lovely however, the bar area was under renovation so we did not have the use of this, which was disappointing. Also, said renovation began early morning and we were on the first floor directly above the work, giving us an early wake up call!
