Hull Station

Posted Jun 3, 2016

Expensive

Posted May 25, 2016
Pros: Position.
Cons: Better maintenance of electrical items. Price.
Location: Very central.
I paid more than usual because I wanted some luxury. However I ended up having to climb on a chair to block a flashing light on the air con that didn't work and was keeping me awake. Though the loud partying from other guests downstairs didn't help. The phone didn't work so I couldn't call room service but had to plod downstairs to order my meal. I ordered a meal for my room and did not see anywhere that it would cost an extra 5 quid for room service so ended up paying 18 quid for a plate with a piece of salmon, 2 potatoes and cabbage. It said the salmon was wrapped in proscutio but it wasn't. Staff were disinterested on the whole and I waited 20 minutes in the wrong place for a course I was attending at the hotel because a staff member told me that was where it was. It wasn't, so I missed the beginning of the course. Overall I wished I had gone somewhere else. Another course member stayed in a hotel which cost 25 quid including breakfast. I ended up spending nearly a hundred quid without breakfast.

The staff were brilliant as they knew we were there as mum in hospital. As other family members started to arrivethey were accommodated as well. Sadly to stay she died but we stayed there for the funeral. Hope to go there next year as hull is the city of culture 2017. Special mention to Margaret

Don't bother even trying them

Very small room. And tiny bathroom with a sink that was tight to even wash my hands in. Cold, heating was right under the jammed window, sockets were in an awkward corner.

Next to town centre bus & rail station

Posted Mar 22, 2016
Pros: The location
Cons: modernisation, new mattresses and maybe revive the chef
Location: There on business and at an event, ThePsychicRendezvous.co.uk with Ralph Keeton & Derek Acorah... May be there in 2017 also, Looks like a lively area.
Give the food a miss, generally disappointing, if you have to complain (which we didn't as got a reasonable rate through Expedia ) take photos etc, do it calmly, get an email address for head office, if there is no resolve, post a review on line
