I stayed at the King's Hotel for a conference, so was only really there in the mornings and late at night. The rooms are pretty basic but comfortable and nice and warm (we stayed in October). TV has a form a freeview, which was nice. Plenty of towels and extra pillows, which was a bonus. Bathroom ...
Hotel room was a little worn and dated but had a free upgrade from a single to a double room. Right in the middle of the city, ideal to book to crash after a gig. Can't grumble for a bargain £25!
Room was basic basement room and lovely and clean and spacious but just so hot - even with the fan on it was absolutely horrendous - fire alarm went off at 2:15am which was dealt with really quickly however because the room was so hot couldn't get back to sleep so that did me for the night!!

We felt very welcome at the Gallivant, and found it really was dog friendly. The food was excellent; our only quibble was the unsuitability of the bread provided for toast & how long the toaster took to toast! The location opposite the dog friendly beach is very good, be nice to have a zebra crossing ...
