Seafront hotel

Pros: Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good
Cons: Beds could be updated and more comfortable
Location: Central location. Near to all amenities
Check in was a bit chaotic! Only two receptionists trying to book a high amount of people in. Bedroom was below standard in that the bed creaked and groaned at the slightest movement, and was small and noisy as there was generators outside the window. Service in the bar was very slow, and food not dry hot

Pleasant hotel, cold room

Pros: The location
Cons: The heating
Location: Only visited for a family event, not local attractions
Hotel Parking was the first challenge, the height restrictions meant we couldn't park at the hotel but no alternative information is available on their website so ended up shelling out £35 for an overnight stay, almost half the room price!!. Check in was easy & the staff attentive but the room was freezing. We were attending a family event in the evening so set the thermostat to 26 to warm the room whilst we were out, it didn't. Still freezing at 1am and it didn't improve overnight. Room was great & nice & spacious but all let down by the temperature.

Victorian splendour, one of nicest in Brighton

Pros: Large room large bed, beautiful view, pool and gym, good position.
Cons: Better service, better repairs, bath to fit two, fridge in the room.
Location: Central, beach view.
A lovely hotel with large rooms, marble clad staircases etc. However, the hotel was managed far better before Hilton took it over. The welcome was unwelcoming, I arrived 10 minutes before check in time and was told with no friendly smile or apology to come back in an hour and even then the room might not be ready. I had left my bags in the bag room and on check in was told they would be taken to my room. Two hours later I had to fetch them myself. The toilet took multiple pumps and good luck to get it to flush, I complained and was told it would be repaired, 44 hours later I left the hotel with the toilet still unrepaired. I suspect room 415 will still have the same problem now. This was a premium room in a top hotel, come on Hilton I deserve better.

We knew the hotel was likely to be busy as we were attending a large event nearby so arranged to arrive as close to check in time as we could to avoid the rush. This turned out better than we could have expected as we were upgraded to a sea view room and what a view! The old pier ruins against the sunset. The room was clean and comfortable with modern furniture and fittings. The bar area was lovely and had a terrace overlooking the sea for those hardy enough to brave the autumn chill. There was a queue for breakfast but tea and orange juice were available to those queueing and the queue was actually quite fast moving. The breakfast was well worth the wait through, delicious. We found all staff members to be friendly, cheerful and helpful. For those very sensitive to street noise I would recommend either a room with out a sea view or a room on a higher floor as being a historic building there is secondary glazing in the original frames rather than full double glazing. We did not have any issues but if you are very sensitive it might be a problem. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and grand old hotel.

Cons: Room too hot.
Location: Great location. Easy walk from the station.
I really only needed a bed for the night and that's what I got. Room ok. Clean. Too hot, but hotels always are. Very noisy at night but that's not the hotel's fault. Didn't use any of the available facilities.

Pros: Charming old building with interesting features. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely location on the seafront. Hotel has everything you need. Our room was at the back but very nice; the bed extremely comfortable; roomy bathroom. By its design, the hotel has large rooms and high ceilings. We didn't use bar or restaurant but both looked nice. Swimming pool is a decent size with sauna, steam and jacuzzi pool, and there are other health and beauty facilities.
Cons: I think a refurbishment of the lifts might be a good idea. But a slightly rickety lift is the only thing we could criticise!
Location: Almost opposite the 360 BA ride, hotel is centrally positioned on the esplanade. Easy to walk to the shops, Lanes, pier; all amenities are close by.

Great location

Pros: Location is superb and newly refurbished health facilities are excellent. The suite that we booked was perfect for a family of 4 and represented excellent value. In room TV facilities were first class.
Cons: The rest of the hotel needs to catch up. Parts are dated and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was not well organised. The staff did their best to cope but it would have benefitted from some experienced direction.

Great location everything accessible on foot

Pros: Location, leisure suite and breakfast.
Cons: Sign posting in the car park. We exited on foot via the entrance which wasn't the best route. The parking fee was expensive for the three nights.
Location: We enjoyed hiring bicycles to explore a little further afield. Royal Pavillion was a must.
Leisure break, there was plenty in Brighton to fill our time, time in the hotel was spent mostly in the leisure suite or the room hence we didn't explore the lounges.
