Lovely hotel in Rye town centrePosted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: The location, the décor and the comfy bed.
Cons: Nothing really
Location: Visit the antiques on the quayside. Climb the bell tower at the church. Have a drink at the Mermaid hotel and check out the famous faces photos.
Stayed for one night at the George in Rye. Right in the centre of town and convenient for browsing the local shops. Stayed in Room 3 which was absolutely gorgeous. The general décor of the hotel is beautiful and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Had our evening meal there - quite pricey but enjoyable with good service. Breakfast (included in room price) was equally enjoyable but no sign of any toast! I'm sure if we'd asked it would have been provided though. Only downside was no hotel parking, however, you can pull up outside the hotel to drop off your bags and the car park we used at Rope Walk - a short walk away - only charges £1.50 for 24 hours. All in all, if you don't mind paying a little bit more for an overnight stay, this hotel is certainly to be recommended.

Good Hotel in the centre of Rye.Posted Sep 11, 2015
Pros: Very well appointed room, and excellent location.
Cons: The tea tasted awful, it was stale. British people need a good brew of fresh tea e.g. Yorkshire Tea for Hard Water or PG Tips or Typhoo.
Location: Super location, with all shops and restaurants galleries and sightseeing within a short walk.
Our room was in the court yard and there are quite a few steps up and down through the hotel for my elderly husband, but we found a quick way out through the side gate which avoided a lot of the steps. We needed the beds to be separated into twins, no problem the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet except for the heavy footsteps from the room above. The breakfast was generous and plenty of choice. I could not get a decent cup of tea either in the bedroom or at breakfast, it tasted old and stale. But on the whole we were very comfortable.

Quaint town centre hotelPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels
Quaint hotel with character. Nice room, although on the small size, great bathroom. Our room was over the kitchen and was too hot, no aircon, just a fan. No on site parking. Food really god, breakfast was excellent.

Mostly good, with a Thick Duvet and SeagullsPosted Jun 25, 2015 on Hotels
Mostly very good. Parking might have been a problem, but we found a space up on East Cliff. The 14-ish tog duvet was a bit much for a warm Summer's night, but the duvet cover was about right by itself. The seagulls on the buildings opposite are mostly quiet at night-time.
