Pros: The people are really nice.
Cons: The window is loose. It does not help that it was really windy.
We stayed for one night. It is an rather old place. The window is kind of loose and keeps making noise. The staff are really friendly. The breakfast is excellent.

Lovely hotel with a modern feel. Friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable with excellent pillows. The room was smaller than we expected and the sink was in the room rather than the bathroom but that wasn't a problem. A comfortable stay in a great location at a reasonable price. Close secure parking. I would stay there again.

Nice B&B near sea

Staff were kind enough to allow us to leave our bags there upon arrival and departure, until we booked in or needed to leave the area. The guy carried our bag up to our room - 71 steps to the top floor, so thank goodness (you would have to be mobile to do this). Staff were polite and efficient but not over friendly. Bed was extremely comfortable, towels fluffy and room very clean and nicely decorated. Nice touch with the crisps/sweet basket and extra's in the cupboard iron/fan which we used. Breakfast portions were good and food tasty. Only negative was the seagulls nesting on the roof, which were unbelievably noisy and woke us up at 3.30am, but I guess that's Brighton or being by the sea for you! Would recommend this B&B.

Very pleasant boutique guest-house near beach

Pros: Location, staff and breakfast
Cons: Size (although difficult to change!)
Location: Close to beach and centre of town
We went to Brighton for mini-break and chose this guesthouse for its location and character. We were greeted on arrival by welcoming staff and a nice cup of tea (all soft drinks were complimentary). Our room was clean and comfortable although it could have been a little bigger as with the hot weather it became quite stuffy. We enjoyed the hot chocolate and sweets in our room as well as the L'Occitane wash stuff which was a nice touch. Lovely two-course breakfast included and the bathroom was very modern if a little small. Other than that, relatively faultless.

Clean and convenient

Pros: Cleanliness Breakfast Sweets in room
Cons: Proper coffee sachets Fix tap Temperature control in room
Location: Close to parking and the BIC
The room was clean with crisp bedding. Quite warm due to underfloor heating so temperature control was not easy. Nice touch with the basket of kiddie type sweets that we tucked into on our return from the concert nearby, as by that time all food outlets were shut. Disappointed that the only coffee sachets in the room were decaff. Vanity unit tap a bit squeaky and the shower head needed a bit of a clean to make sure water went downwards rather than sprayed everywhere else, but they always do. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Close to parking and the BIC so suited us very well. Good value for money, and would happily stay again.

Nice, but outdated

The staff are great, breakfast is very good. The hotel is close o the beach and in walking distance from the center. Rooms are quite outdated, as the windows are not sealed properly the room is very noisy. The floor is squeaky which is very annoying. The hotel doesn't have an elevator so if you're staying on the 3rd or 4th floor and need to carry your stuff in the narrow stairs, well...not something you would expect from 4 star rated hotel.

Pros: The: - Welcome and hospitality - Breakfast and refreshments - Well designed twin room - Closeness to the beach, shops, Lanes and restaurants
Cons: Just keep doing what you are doing and being as nice as you are.
Location: Great location - very near to everything, yet not noisy at all.
My friend and I stayed at The Oriental for 2 nights and we had a really enjoyable stay. It's a lovely boutique hotel that is relaxing and informal, yet high quality with artistic touches and thoughtful attention to detail. Lola and the team were so warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped into the place to the moment we left. In fact, Lola continued being kind and helpful, as my friend had lost her travel pass and telephoned from the train station to ask if she had left it in the bar/breakfast area where we were having a final hot drink - complimentary and with chocolate cake!:) - before we left. Lola went out of her way to search for it, including walking up the street, and later phoned my friend to say that it had been found and picked up by another kind lady not far from the hotel. We stayed in the Twin Room on the ground floor and although sharing a room, the L-shaped layout made it feel like you still had your own space and could relax and breathe. Breakfasts were great and plentiful and the gluten free toast was tasty and appreciated. The refreshments in the room were also lovely - and with sweets and chocolates too! A great stay and I would recommend to everyone. Thank you to you all.
